Scott Bassham Hits the Road: June 2025 Northwest Tour
Presented by Whalebone Music & Corney Music.

The long and winding road continues for singer, songwriter, and guitarist Scott Andrew Bassham, as he returns to the road this June, bringing his wild-hearted blend of folk, blues, and melodic punk energy to music lovers across the Pilbara, Ningaloo Coast, and the Kimberley.

Following the 2024 release of his acclaimed second studio album, Songs Behind the Sea, Scott’s upcoming solo tour is a celebration of a life devoted to music and the stories that shape it. Deeply inspired by the land-scapes he travels through, Scott’s music reflects the raw beauty and character of regional Australia, filtered through decades of experience as a traveling artist.

His live shows are known for their passion, energy, and authenticity. Whether performing his own heartfelt originals or reimagining the work of his musical heroes, Scott delivers with sincerity and connection—always with an ear to the ground and a heart on his sleeve.

“I absolutely love roaming around the Northwest,” says Scott.
“I’ve been coming up to share music for many years, and I have a deep affection for the venues and the people I get to play to. The land itself means a lot to me—it makes every trip feel meaningful and grounding.”

In addition to his solo work, Scott is also one half of the beloved folk/punk duo Ill-Starred Captain, formed in Port Lincoln, SA in the early 2000s. Now based in the Southwest of WA, Scott continues to write, pro-duce, and perform as a proudly independent regional artist.

“It’s quite a world we live in right now,” Scott reflects.
“We all need some good tunes to get us through—at least I do! That’s what I aim to bring to every show on this tour: something for the head, the heart, and the hips.”

News just in as the wind blew in from Nova Scotia Canada. Jon Hines, blues musician just got his visa to perform in Australia. Stay tuned and let’s get international Australia and begin a music exchange.

It’s the first time I’ve sponsored a music act from abroad as in this business it’s best to diversify than to sit around knocking on doors being met by a ghost.

Some can silence others and some can take advantage too. Some might not share opportunities like I have in the past with them as that’s fine and easier for me.

Your short term gain is your goal and I don’t forget who is who. The thing is you will never hold me or loyal colleagues down as I’ll keep kicking and gouge an eye shall I need to in fairness.

I look forward to sharing new music and to getting things done and meeting new folks along the way respectfully.

Let the lone wolves eat marrow from their crusty bones they can share with each other. Dog a mate for fifty bucks is the modern Australian Music industry.

Shows how desperate it can get in this bizz and who’s off to cashies?. All looks good under lights onstage hey? Good folk will all eat well without you.

Stay cool people it’s hot and keep supporting your local creatives with their work as they will inspire your peace of mind. We will continue to bring difference to communities and look forward to seeing you there when the shows roll into town.

Here’s a clip from Jon Hines of a recent appearance at the Memphis Blues Event.

I won’t wear a top hat with a feather in it but I still got the blues for you. Have a good day and I feel like Mr Lucky, John Lee.

Since my baby left me I woke up this morning.

Cheers
