Each artist is original in the way they practise their art — from their inspiration and journey, to the skills and processes they develop along the way. Today’s artist demonstration with Leanne Austin brought us along on her journey, shared with the utmost generosity and natural style.

Referencing the artwork she has on show (which sold early in the exhibition to a discerning buyer!), Leanne worked today on an ‘in progress’ painting while visitors watched and asked questions with enthusiasm.

Attendees were highly engaged as Leanne talked us through her process, sharing valuable colour-mixing tips, where to source materials, and her thinking as the painting developed. Some precious silver leaf found its way into the afternoon too!

A very big thankyou to Leanne for her generosity of time, knowledge and inspiration, who could be found chatting well after her demonstration had finished, such is her passion for art in the community. You can follow Leanne to see where her art takes her next! https://www.facebook.com/leanneaustinartist

Your last chance to join the many hundreds of visitors who have experienced the reimagining of nature for SALA at Pepper Street by 43 artists ...only until 28 August, closing at 3 pm. Don't miss it!

Today, textile artist Cathy Boniciolli shared her creative process in a beautiful art textiles demonstration, exploring how to interpret the beauty of marine environments through small textile works. Using fabric, stitch and mixed media, Cathy demonstrated how colour, texture and form can be used to capture inspiration from the natural world. 🌊🧵

Missed out today? There’s still one final artist demonstration to enjoy!

Join Leanne Austin tomorrow from 1.30 pm - 3 pm as she demonstrates her approach to forest landscape painting. 🎨🌲
