When you join one of our classes, you will select from a range of silver or gold to make your project.
Generally, sterling silver is the metal of choice for the first projects and it is supplied in wire or sheet form.
We can add texture using stamps or emboss, or highly polish the finished jewellery to a high glossy shine.
We can also add contrast metals such as gold, titanium or copper, or antique the surface using a sulphur solution

Ideas for an exhibition swirling in my head. Have seen lots of inspiring spaces in Canberra, tiny exhibit in repurposed library shute, and large works in collections in City gallery . Colours, textures and stories made visible through the works of clever people, indigenous works made of clay which resembles basketry. So many textures, colours and stories. And I haven't even been to NGA where the Cartier exhibition is showing.

"Craft participation and consumption, alongside the valuing of traditional skills, speaks to longings for stability and enduring value."

"The created object might well come to stand as material evidence of skilled, creative and free labour- evidence of our existence lacking or without an outlet in modern work."
The Promise of Things by Ruth Quibell

What my students love about my classes is an unfussy introduction to the tools and completing a bespoke silver ring or bangle in 3 hours!
They are not interested in too much theory, and love a loose and creative approach to design. The only time I rein in their concepts is when I know it won't work but I explain why and steer them towards an alternative design. Together we work through ideas and come up with designs that will work and can be completed to become wearable art.

My business is a studio for students to attend and learn and practice jewellery making skills.
We design and fabricate silver and gold rings, pendants and bracelets and set them with gemstones. We love the processes, challenges and interactions involved in creating these bespoke works.
Enamel, antiquing and keum boo are some of the finishes we apply.
The studio is open for students and other graduates to space share near Adelaide city. I welcome responses from readers.
