Meet our instructor :

My name is Ayana.
I’m originally from Japan and worked as a flight attendant before moving to Australia. Since making Adelaide my home, I’ve become passionate about sharing the beauty of Japanese culture with others.

Through mizuhiki, the traditional Japanese art of decorative knot-tying, I love showing how simple cords can be transformed into something beautiful and meaningful. I hope my classes give you a chance to relax, be creative, and enjoy a little piece of Japan.

Some weekends fill your cup all the way up. ☕️🎨

Two silk marbling sessions, so many smiles. These faces are Saturday’s class — five artists watching paints dance across water into turquoise galaxies, pink blooms, and purple stone. No two patterns ever the same, then lifted onto silk to wear the art home.

Sunday brought a private group and just as much joy — you’ll just have to take our word for it this time 😊 (some magic stays in the room ✨)

Ending the weekend tired, a little paint-stained, and genuinely proud. This is why we do it. 🔴🌿

There’s a reason origami masters spend years perfecting a single fold. In a world of shortcuts, there’s something sacred about slowing down, following one crease at a time, and watching paper become art.

Origami—the ancient Japanese craft of transforming paper into sculptural forms—shares the same meditative precision as marbling. We’re adding this discipline because it’s rooted in the same philosophy: intention, craftsmanship, and beauty through simplicity.

Watching someone’s face light up when they see their marbled pattern emerge from the water for the first time — that’s our favorite part of every workshop 🤍

The concentration, the joy, the pride as they hold their finished piece. And the best part? Getting to see them actually wear it. These scarves look even more beautiful on, and I couldn’t resist trying them on myself to show how incredible they are!
