I created a piece where a solitary basalt mesa rises from an ochre plain, its flat crown forming a dark silhouette against a pale sky. Riveted ridges and vertical fluting descend the slope like frozen rivers, while wind-sculpted sand gathers in smooth ribbons that trace the hill’s contours. Scattered stones and faint tire ruts add a human scale to a scene shaped by geology and time. The contrast between the mesa’s somber mass and the light, granular surface below gives the work a quiet, austere presence, and the spare composition leaves room to look. I'm sharing a new piece from the studio that plays with cool blues, deep indigo, and stark black, with a single smear of red and a small green face breaking the crowd. Figures overlap and blur, stair-like shapes and diagonal rails suggest movement, while smudges and drips give a sense of rush and abrasion. There are moments of stillness tucked into the motion, a crimson-headed figure leaning forward amid anonymous faces. Three elongated, cloaked silhouettes hover across the upper half, their faint outlines set against a dense field of looping, cellular shapes. Below a sharp horizontal seam, a plaza opens in strict geometry, alternating bands of brick and tile forming a repeating zigzag while tiny pedestrians cross the grid, their jackets small points of warmth against the cool ground. A curved railing in the foreground softens the scene and narrow vertical panels at left act like a hinge between loose, ambiguous marks and measured structure. The word OBLIVION near the corner shifts the mood. I like how the piece balances unsettling quiet with formal order. White Desert Sahara12 shows a low sun resting at the horizon, setting the sky in graduated honey and coral. Pale chalk towers rise from a wind-sanded plain, their smooth contours caught in the thin gold of early light. An arc of eroded stone on the left frames the view and leads the eye toward distant formations that recede like islands across an empty sea. I'm sharing "Poet In The Garden". A grid of small squares with scattered letters and faint symbols sits beside a seated figure in a striped garment and slouched cap.
