Today marks the start of National Reconciliation Week 2026, a time to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and go for reconciliation in Australia.

Since inception, WOMADelaide has championed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, providing a platform for stories to be shared through music, arts and dance. This year marked a powerful full-circle moment as Yothu Yindi returned to the festival for the first time since 1993, to celebrate 35 years of Tribal Voice.

You can find out more about First Nations artists who have performed at WOMADelaide over the past three decades and read our Reconciliation Action Plan at https://www.womadelaide.com.au/about/first-nations-artists.

Or, head to Reconciliation Australia for resources, events and more information on how you can take action this .

While we’re working away on WOMADelaide 2027, you can help us continue to bring the festival to life 🌱

As an independent non-profit Foundation, WOMADelaide is made possible through the generosity of our passionate donors.

Every donation helps create opportunities for artists, bring large-scale performance works to Adelaide, provide tickets to disadvantaged members of our community, make the festival more sustainable, and inspire people across generations.

If you'd like to find out more about how you can help this end of financial year, head to: https://www.womadelaide.com.au/support/donate

Back in 1995, Gil Scott-Heron brought his powerful voice to WOMADelaide.

Now, his legacy lives on in a world premiere from longtime collaborator Brian Jackson and hip hop legend Yasiin Bey. Together they offer a rare chance to witness Gil Scott-Heron's revolutionary artistry, activism, and the creative force that shaped jazz-funk, soul, and the foundations of hip hop.

Touring nationally this month, not to be missed!
