This marks an important step toward rebuilding transparency, accountability and strong community governance for Raukkan.

To ensure the community is fully informed of actions, decisions and future RCCI business, a new official RCCI page will shortly be established to provide regular updates and community communications.

We acknowledge all community members who attended and participated respectfully throughout the process and recognise the importance of continuing to work together in the best interests of community.

Late notice…!

If raukkan community would like to gather on the big lawn.. or at 6pm every house hold light a candle 🕯️ at the front of your homes.. or everyone’s front porch lights on 🕊️🤍

We do so in solidarity with the family,

the Alice Springs community, and all communities who are heartbroken over this loss.

Pink was Kumanjai Little Baby's favourite colour.

to join in remembering this beautiful young girl and show support to her family. 🌸

As Kumanjayi Little Baby’s family grieve the loss of their little girl, Northern Territory Police Executive Director of Cultural Reform Leanne Liddle has delivered a statement on their behalf.

Note: In some Aboriginal communities, including Warlpiri and Western Desert groups, the name of a person who has died is not used after their passing.

A substitute such as Kumanjayi is used instead. This reflects cultural protocols around mourning and respect. It is often translated as “no-name” and has been used, in this case, at the request of the family.

The RCCI and staff are working hard to bring together the changes that community have been asking for. This includes working with Consumer and Business Services, our accountants and funding bodies to take the necessary steps to address all governance and financial matters that have impacted our community. Over the coming weeks we will be working with our Council members and specialist support to develop and create new ways of working. We will keep you posted about what these changes via our FB page. Community residents will also be invited to view our new Draft Governance Frameworks and policies. They will be available for viewing and we welcome your feedback.
It is at this time the RCCI formally advise that there have been no decisions or changes affecting any resident or tenants. Misinformation in the process of change is unhelpful. Defamatory, malicious and misleading information and comments will be dealt accordingly. We are actively working to resolve the matters that have impacted Raukkan. Should you have any concerns or questions we encourage you to reach out directly to the CEO.

The matter is currently being managed by the appropriate authorities and is subject now to legal processes. Raukkan Community Council Inc. (RCCI) is working in consultation with other relevant agencies to progress approaches that support community wellbeing and community safety.

We acknowledge and appreciate the support of community and particularly the leadership of community Elders during this time.

Out of respect for those involved and the integrity of the legal process, we have turned off comments and ask that community members refrain from speculation or public commentary.
