Karul Projects is excited to announce a new chapter for us, First Nations dance, and the Australian arts landscape. Today, 6 July 2026, we commence the adventure of our ensemble.

Providing 4 First Nations artists a salaried position within the company so that we can develop, present and provide shows, workshops and training that increase First Nations voices, stories and visibility on all stages locally, nationally and internationally.

We are so excited to announce that our inaugural foundation ensemble artists are Olivia Adams (Wulli Wulli), Keia McGrady (Githabul, Migunberri-Yugambeh, Gomeroi), Glory Tuohy-Daniell (Indjalandji-Dhidanu, Alyawarre) and Brooklyn Bond (Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Latji Latji), working alongside Directors Thomas E.S. Kelly (Minjungbal, Wiradjuri, Ni-Vanuatu) and Taree Sansbury (Kaurna, Narrunga, Ngarrindjeri).

This new step forward is only made possible due to very generous support from our donors alongside our multi-year organisational funding partners.

Help us continue holding up and tell our stories. For the past 9 years Karul has been increasing First Nations voices, visibility and stories on local, national and international stages.

We have some great things planned kicking off in the next financial year we can’t wait to share with you, projects, collaborations, company positions, a new vision forward and we’d love to have you all be part of it.

This EOFY any help big or small is welcomed and of course could be tax deductible.

We have been working and growing on and off the stage. A huge part of our growth happens because of incredible people who provide Karul with financial resources through irregular or regular support. No matter how big or small, every bit makes a difference.

Your support helps us make works like Silence, Weredingo, The Walking Track and Kuramanunya. Our new work is yet to be premiered The Mighty Mob, for which your financial support could help fund more developments and artist’s wages. With more support our yearly skills development opportunities like Ngari Ngali-Wahlu choreographic dance intensive and our Yagabaling artist-in-residence program becomes sustainable with growth achievable.

We are thankful to all our supporters in all capacities, we want to say Bugulbeh (many thanks) for following us and championing us wherever and however possible.

So we will be sharing a photo a day for the next 10 days celebrating our Green Room Award winning work that really kicked off the passion for story telling that continues to drive Karul Projects today.
