Let’s not lose our connection to the world, let’s not lose our humanity. Through common tasks and actions, through every day ritual and shared experience, we are more than the sum of our differences.

Sound sources from the physical world hold space in the other: connecting the tangible with the immaterial. Base needs for clean water and air are drivers through which we can recognize a deeper connection with each other.

¿Por qué?

Emily and Anthony have collaborated to create a dramatic piece that explores themes of confusion, delusion, obsessive love and eventual healing.

The themes are a response to a personal journey right in the heart of Latin America, Argentina, where hearts are opened and closed in the same breath. Drawing together contrasting styles of vocalization and flamenco dance,

¿Por qué? is emotionally honest and vulnerably human. The question is…. ¿Por qué? no me amas más?

Exploring the dynamics between the fluid art of belly dance and the explosive, industrial energy of the Daisy-Chain-Massacre, this work dances along an off beat path, channeling the perfect balance of these juxtaposed energies.

Dance and music merge into a beautiful and almost antagonistic experience that pushes your expectations into the unknown.

Lisa Lonero and Rachel Kennedy brought the Canadian concept, which has been been running in British Columbia for around 20 years to the Fringe in 2016.

Like the choreography, the music for Orange successively explores each perceptive sense through sound. Relishing in the effervescent citrus flavours and scents, taste and smell give way to the experience of hearing conjured through building rhythms out of the natural rebound of oranges.

A quirky take on the vibrant sight and rich colour of the fruit follows, moving through to the porous and strewn textures of touch, before a final climax, which integrates the full sensory experience together.
