Apologies for the late notice but the Board has been negotiating parking arrangements with government and the City of Adelaide right up until the last minute. We can now advise that we have permission to use Park 23 (western side of Anzac Highway) as well as the portion of Park 22 not allocated to the RAT site. However, there are important requirements from City of Adelaide in relation to Park 23 access and parking that the Board would like relayed to all families. Access to Park 23 is strictly:
· for SAUCNA netball activities only. That is, non-SAUCNA netball clubs that use the courts for training/trials are not permitted to use Park 23 without council’s separate permission; and
· only between the hours of 17.00 (5 p.m.) and 22.00 (10 p.m.) Tuesday to Friday inclusive; and
· commencing on the 1 February 2022 and concluding on 11 March 2022, or concluding upon the return of all parking availability in Park 22 (whichever is the earliest – for example, if the RAT site is decommissioned before 11/3/22); and
· being contained to the hard stand areas only (as shown on the site map below). What this means is that vehicles must only be parked on the asphalt area, and not on unsealed portions of Park 23; and
· being managed with a traffic controller at the entry and exit at all times and supported by signage. The Board has negotiated traffic managers to perform this task, and their directions must be followed; and
· users of Park 23 to be mindful that there is no lighting within the designated parking area and to exercise a higher degree of caution re vehicle movement and personal safety.
Council may revoke this permission at its discretion with 24 hours written notice. This could include council becoming aware of non-compliance with these instructions. It is therefore very important that SAUCNA families observe the instructions and comply at all times.
One other important matter the Board has negotiated is reduced speed limits between 1700-2200 on Anzac Highway – a 40 km/h limit will apply in consideration of the safety of pedestrians crossing the road. This is a big win for SAUCNA.
Best wishes to everyone for the resumption of the season.
