The Soul Council is a dance and movement studio and creative collective based in South Australia, formally established in 2011. Offering a schedule of open dance & Pilates classes for the community as well as opportunities for creative collaboration, our motto is "Creation. A meeting point for likeminded individuals, The Soul Council's focus is on producing unique and engaging dance and movement e

vents - from classes and workshops, to live stage performances and also creative, visual and digital media/content. Though much of our work is with and for adults, we believe in creating and supporting sustainable dance, movement and artistic practice, from childhood right through to senior years. Through our work we aim to encourage lifelong appreciation and engagement with the Arts and improve personal physical and mental health outcomes in our community. We are always keen to meet new people and discuss new and exciting future projects. We’ve got 3 Street dance GROOVES sessions on offer this Term and the first one is coming at you Wednesday 13th May!

// VOULEZ-VOUS BOOGIE? //
GROOVES class is not about choreography. It’s about finding your FLOW. The vibes are high, and the lights are LOW.

It is hot, heavy, funky, soulful fun. Call it a baptism in sweet, salty sweat!

PLAYLIST = Bangers. Bangers you know and love + Deep cuts, screw-face dirty, awesome Hip Hop, smooth, wrapped-in-silk Soul, RnB, hidden gems and occasional shameless pop and/or wherever else the playlist chooses to take us.

Whether you want to use the class to grow yourself or let go of yourself, GROOVES class is here for it.

If you wanna take a magical carpet ride full of boogie-down good times with great people, JOIN US 😉

Cost: $25, Cash Only.

// HOW TO BOOK THE CLASS //
Just DM by or before 3pm the day of to reserve your spot.
We need a minimum of 3 sign-ups to run the class but there’s only 7 spaces max. so please only put your hand up if you fully intend* to attend.

*We do understand that life happens, but if you are one of only 3 sign-ups and need to late cancel (same day, after 430pm) payment for your booking is still appreciated. Bank details will be supplied if or when we come to cross that bridge.

All aboard for a soulful journey through the moves that made the MTV generation!�
This workshop is a fun, all-levels session to explore iconic street dance styles from Soul Train to the golden age of hip-hop and beyond.

Explore the moves shaped by Music’s biggest icons as they brought the party from the streets and dance halls to living rooms, house parties and into the hearts of a generation.

Disco, funk and hip-hop hits are your ticket to ride. Let your body and soul groove, get down and have a damn good time as you learn, dance, play, sweat and smile like you just put on your favourite mixtape.
