I play Scrabble online and I don't use rude words, naturally.

In this game I was responding to the opening word and was surprised to find that I could make the word "va**na" with my letters which included a double letter score. The devil in me wanted to play it immediately, but as I did not know the person I was playing or even the gender, I hesitated .The other word I could have played to get a reasonable score was "Zen" which is strangely allowable despite the capital letter. The score difference would have been substantial however, so I went for the va**na.

Having entered the word, I was disappointed to notice that there was a chance for a another double letter score at the end of it which I would miss. Then my knowledge of Latin kicked in and I realized that the first declension normative, singular plural in Latin ends in AE. This sort of thing doesn't always work in Scrabble but I gave it a go and my score was a very satisfying 44.

If my opponent was shocked or taken aback at this possible liberty he/she did not hesitate for long and followed with his/her word.

This experience may have opened possibilities for the future. Specif**ally, for instance, the letter f is worth 4 points as is the letter k.

This is my first time. I reckon I would've got it if I didn't have to waste moves getting the hang of it. I think it's easier than the Wordle.

This encounter reminds me of my neighbours.

The clique of three.

The woman next door likes to take over all the common garden areas Including ones that aren’t hers in the street including ours. She does what she wants and is totally uncommunicative even becoming irate when it comes to discussing what she has done wrong because, she claims, she has been a gardener and she comes complete with bad gardening advice.

The guy across the road offered to buy one of my bicycles which he has now had for the last two years. He initially claimed that he had a friend who would advise him how much it was to fix a couple of its minor problems so we could agree on a price. He hasn’t spoken to me about this for about a year. Consequently, I avoid him but he seems to want to carry on some sort of friendship with me despite the circumstances. I’m not interested.

Lastly, there is a person who claims to be a French but has a Serbian name and speaks Serbian as well as French. He is a thief, a liar and he once came to attack me with a spade for no reason. He was speaking to me for a while after this and I lent him an HDMI cable which he appears to be refusing to return to me. I don’t expect to see it again. I believe he’s also the one who dug up some cactuses I planted in our garden. He’s quite psychotic.

I should mention that I live in public-housing as do the aforementioned.

They meet on the green area that blocks off our road and chat but when someone else comes too close they scatter and go inside.

Quite a select bunch the clique of three.
