What an awesome experience! Grease is absolutely brought to life in this fantastic immersive movie experience in Battersea Park.

This production is absolutely all about the experience and the performances are a bonus. With the iconic movie playing whilst every scene is brought to life in front of you, this is such a fun experience!!

Have to say - it was jaw to the floor walking in and seeing the creativity come to life with this - so not your ordinary theatre experience.

So cool! I would love to see this concept picked up in other cities - it truly makes for an unforgettable summer night (🎶)

I have been a massive fan of the National Theatre for a very long time but somehow whenever I’m in London, it hasn’t quite aligned for me to see a show at their amazing complex.

Not only did that change this week, but it changed in the best possible way with a show I absolutely adored.

‘Pride’ is based on a true story, set against the backdrop of the 80s, when a gay and le***an group formed to support the miners whilst they were on Strike in Thatcher’s 1984.

This is a show that will make every ally’s heart sing - it is such a beautiful and timely reminder of how often hatred stems from nothing more than ignorance. It is exactly the kind of content that should be on stage right now. It is funny, poignant, well produced and most significantly, it is important.

This season is sold out, but they do put last-minute tickets on the website as they become available so if you are coming to London check every day - I did and I managed to score a last minute ticket in prime seats.

Favourite show of the trip so far unquestionably - possibly my favourite of the year. I cried, I laughed and most of all I lamented that the show is sold out so I couldn’t instantly buy another ticket.

Can’t wait to see where this show goes next!!

First time finally being in the city for a Broadway in Bryant Park session

I absolutely love that they do this every summer - it makes Broadway accessible to everyone at this outdoor free concert and it was beautiful to see people from all ages just loving the day!!

Not even the rain stopped this crowd from cheering on their favourite shows!

Such a great afternoon - hope to be back in the city for more next time!

In the city and keen to go? The last one of the summer is on this Thursday August 13th from 12:30-1:30pm

Hello Broadway! It’s SO good to be back!

Kicked off my time here with a double show day, including this year’s Tony winner, Schmigadoon

If you’ve seen the Apple TV show, it’s exactly the same so you know what to expect and this show delivers! It’s fun, high energy and so wonderfully CAMP with great costumes and a tap number to boot. Unquestionably silly, the show cleverly pulls apart the craziness we come to accept as musical theatre lovers, whilst also celebrating all that made us fall in love with them to start with.

The choreography is old school - like the kind of theatre jazz you’re taught at dance school but never really get to use anymore - I loved that aspect!

Fantastic cast, strong book filled with great jokes and quips. All in all, purely entertaining!

Mindblowing, no. Fun night at the theatre, absolutely!!! So glad I got to see it!!

Arts on Tour’s 2026 Salon was fabulous!

Such a great day to be inspired by peers in the industry and also to hear about what’s happening and what’s making waves for us all. At a time when everything you’re reading about the Arts feels heavy, negative and ultimately bleak, it was so uplifting to be in a room of independent theatre makers making high quality, sustainable and impactful work and proving that nothing will stop them from getting stories on stages all over NSW!

It was an honour too to be invited to present at this conference on behalf of Theatre Travels and Jens Radda and to speak about our wonderful, camp, spectacular…so many ways I’d like to describe this show! Haha… Skank Sinatra: The Name on Everybody’s Lips 💋

Very proud to stand up with my industry and to keep making work! And look at the gorgeous Skank Sinatra as the cover girl of the day! Yay!!

Huge congratulations to Robbi James for producing the event and to the whole ARTS ON TOUR team - happy 10 years of salon and thank you for such a brilliant day.

Salon is a brilliant mix of industry updates (knowing about the budget, the initiatives, the reporting, etc) from bodies like Create NSW, venue updates to know what companies around NSW are doing and prioritising, pitches from artists with tour ready works and some little sneak peaks of performances.

Feeling inspired and ready to get creative! Gosh I love the people who make this industry happen!!

Another beautiful 5 ⭐️ review - thank you !!

“I saw his production last year and loved it. This year he has surpassed himself with a deeper look into the man behind the drag!
In an all too short 60 minutes Skank (a genuine triple threat) serenades us, dances, teases us and most of all entertains us in a plethora of frocks…

Skank Sinatra: The Name on Everybody’s Lips is the best money you will spend at the Fringe and should not be missed!“

Hello beautiful Theatre Travels family

It’s been forever and a day since I posted and so I thought I’d take the opportunity to reintroduce myself and tell you a bit about what I’ve got going on ☺️

My name is Carly and I’m the founder and Artistic Director of Theatre Travels. Since our first production in 2018, we’ve produced 22 shows and run a super active, nation wide reviewing platform which has, since 2019, covered over 3500 shows!

In my day to day life, I’m the Artistic, Programs and Festival Director at the gorgeous which I love!

Over the past couple of years, establishing the theatres at Qtopia Sydney has been my top priority but now, I’m extremely excited to get back into the Director’s seat on a brand new show created with the incomparable - Skank Sinatra: The Name on Everybody’s Lips 👄

So you’ll start to see this account pick up quite a lot because we are on tour and ready to share this musical theatre filled, high energy, high camp cabaret with you all!!

I chose this photo to post because it’s about making a wish…but honestly in my wildest dreams I couldn’t have wished for anything more! Getting to make art with beautiful people and work every day on building up an amazing new festival, Pride Fest, and theatres at Qtopia Sydney…it’s a dream! And I’m so grateful to get to do it all!!

Stay tuned and come see 👄 when we come to your city!

Xx Carly
