Hello beautiful Theatre Travels family
It’s been forever and a day since I posted and so I thought I’d take the opportunity to reintroduce myself and tell you a bit about what I’ve got going on ☺️
My name is Carly and I’m the founder and Artistic Director of Theatre Travels. Since our first production in 2018, we’ve produced 22 shows and run a super active, nation wide reviewing platform which has, since 2019, covered over 3500 shows!
In my day to day life, I’m the Artistic, Programs and Festival Director at the gorgeous which I love!
Over the past couple of years, establishing the theatres at Qtopia Sydney has been my top priority but now, I’m extremely excited to get back into the Director’s seat on a brand new show created with the incomparable - Skank Sinatra: The Name on Everybody’s Lips 👄
So you’ll start to see this account pick up quite a lot because we are on tour and ready to share this musical theatre filled, high energy, high camp cabaret with you all!!
I chose this photo to post because it’s about making a wish…but honestly in my wildest dreams I couldn’t have wished for anything more! Getting to make art with beautiful people and work every day on building up an amazing new festival, Pride Fest, and theatres at Qtopia Sydney…it’s a dream! And I’m so grateful to get to do it all!!

Have loved spending the last 4 weeks at in a slightly different role to my usual reviewer title
Thanks so much Sydney Fringe for inviting me to be one of your ‘Official’ Industry Judges! Was a total treat and congratulations to all those who walked away from the Fringe with awards in hand!!
I absolutely love fringe festivals and what they stand for and can’t wait to continue to be involved in many of them for many years to come!!

What an awesome week at ’s APAF conference - grateful to have been selected to represent as an Independent delegate for NSW and even more thankful to have spent time with these wonderful people (and so many more I didn’t get in photos! I was not on my socials game!! Too engaged in conversation 🤪)
A week full of conversation, deliberation, brainstorming, challenges, invitations, collaboration, workshops, deep thought and more than anything passion - proud to be part of a group who care so deeply about the Arts and the way our sector operates and should operate in the next hundred years.
There’s so much work to do but it’s great to know that there’s a community of people to do it with!
Amazing fringe season - very proud of this little cabaret! Now time to develop, strategise and plan what comes next for it!

Produce a great variety of works that reflect current global issues, themes and events
Reduce the barriers of cross-cultural engagement with and contact to the arts and highlight the various ways of increasing involvement through our three core areas;
3. Encourage artists to consider how their works can stimulate dialogue and conversation on issues of global importance
4. Provide opportunities for new works by both established and emerging artists from around the world to be produced. In doing this, we hope to facilitate opportunities for emerging artists in multiple disciplines to gain experience and to begin their creative paths with a goal already focused on promoting and engaging with an internationally minded theatre community
5. Recognise theatre as a platform to call on action, raise awareness, spark conversation or simply mirror societies. We will do this through ensuring that all productions are completed to an exceptional, professional standard.
