Video Description

Video Description
A tight close-up of Lucy Haas’ face as they whisper into the camera “This is how I’m preparing for UNCLE VANYA But There Are ASMR Soap-Cutting Videos Playing In The Bottom Right Corner”. Lucy pauses for a small moment, blinking like a fish, before withdrawing from the camera enough to reveal that they are crocheting a blanket. A dubstep-y track plays as we hard cut to the poster image before returning to Lucy Haas who is frowning at a tangled crochet loop. We hard cut to a hot pink slide that reads “ticket link in bio” before returning once again to Lucy, who is now jostling with a dense tangle of threads.

A close-up of Poppy Mee staring directly into her phone camera. Unsmiling and tentative, she half-whispers, “Hi, I’m Poppy and this is how I’m preparing for UNCLE VANYA But There’s ASMR Soap-Cutting Videos Playing In The Bottom Right Corner.” The video freezes on Poppy’s face for a moment as she (presumably) switches from selfie mode to the back camera. The resultant image (bare knees, pants around ankles, bathroom tiles, and an orange bathmat) gives the impression that she is sitting on a toilet. In her right hand, she holds an apple with two bites taken out of it.
A dubstep-y track plays as we hard cut to the poster image and "ticket link in bio"
We then cut back to Poppy, who, without fear, bites the apple. She then *almost* gets a bit of her hair in her mouth. She blows it away emphatically before muttering “gross” — directing this label at the hair.
This video is harrowing and confusing. I don’t understand it. Poppy must be engaging with the text of Uncle Vanya on some deeper, more awful level. Look, this isn’t even the video description anymore; it’s just my opinion. If you came here looking for answers, I have none. I'm as upset as you are.

Arran (or, more accurately, ) steps back to reveal a bejeweled black leotard-look, complete with giant auburn wig. She poses, twirls, and waves coyly at someone out of frame. A dubstep-y track plays as we hard cut between Marion and the poster image.

Video description:
A tight close-up of Ellen Graham wearing a blue, stickered skate helmet. She grins, revealing a blue mouthguard and whispers into the camera "Hi, I'm Ellen, and this is how I'm preparing for Uncle Vanya But There's ASMR Soap-Cutting Videos Playing in The Bottom Right Corner". Ellen proceeds to float/wiggle backwards, revealing that she's on roller skates in the middle of some kind of sports facility. She is then abruptly T-boned by another skater. As Ellen collides (safely and gracefully) with the wood floor, we hard-cut to the poster image for the show. A dubstep-y musical sting plays in the background. We return briefly to Ellen, who cackles and rolls out of her fall.

Video Description:

A synthy pop track plays over some hand-held footage, taken by Mary, of Yoz posing for the UNCLE VANYA poster. Yoz is dressed in an old-timey tweed jacket in a rich earthy brown. She sits at a wooden desk, in front of a bubblegum pink paper backdrop. The desk is covered in numerous bars of soap. The shot requires Yoz to look despondent while she cuts the soap. Between shots, Mary and Yoz giggle and try to recreate the poster shot from Fight Club. After succeeding at this, Yoz pretends to bite the soap. The video ends with a freeze frame and text revealing that, "three minutes later, Yoz really did bite the soap" — and that fortunately there was a “kitchenette in the studio, perfectly located for mouth rinsing". The text then claims “we are unstoppable!”, before hard-cutting to a series of edited promo images and a poster reveal.

Video Description:

A video of the UNCLE VANYA But There’s ASMR Soap-Cutting Videos Playing In The Bottom Right Corner State Theatre Season Launch speech with several sections removed. Black title cards reading phrases such as “two minutes later” have been inserted to indicate their absence. The effect is jarring and deliberately janky.

Throughout the speech, a combination of stock and hand-shot ASMR clips appear on screen. At their climax, the clips become so densely layered that they obscure almost the entire frame.
