Do you speak Filipino, Hindi, Mandarin, or Nepali?

DREAM needs your help!

UTAS is in the process of translating the Dementia education resources into several languages: Nepali, Hindi, Filipino and Chinese (simplified).

To do this well, they are looking for people in the Australian aged care workforce with these spoken and written language skills to support the development of introductions that explain the translations and provide language specific contextual information.

If you are interested to support this translation project, have further questions or would like to discuss the role in greater detail you are invited to read more under the tab 'Get involved' here: https://lnkd.in/gNQ7HMEh

Eid al-Adha Mubarak from Multicultural Aged Care.

As families and communities come together to celebrate this special occasion, we extend our warmest wishes to all who observe Eid al-Adha.

Eid al-Adha is a meaningful time for reflection, generosity, and connection. It reminds us of the importance of family, caring for one another, and sharing with those in need.

At MAC, we are proud to support and celebrate the diverse cultures, faiths, and traditions that strengthen our community.

Wishing you and your family a blessed, peaceful, and joyful Eid.

The Australian National Audit Office has released its performance audit on the effectiveness of CHSP, highlighting important findings for the aged care sector, including opportunities to strengthen planning, monitoring, stakeholder engagement, assurance and service outcomes as CHSP transitions into Support at Home.

For aged care service providers and communities, this report offers valuable insights into the current strengths, pressures and future directions of entry-level aged care services.

The report also highlights equity considerations for culturally and linguistically diverse older people, including cultural and language barriers to accessing CHSP services and the need for stronger monitoring of how the program is meeting the needs of diverse communities.

This National Palliative Care Week (10–16 May 2026), we acknowledge the importance of creating space for the big questions, honest conversations, and culturally responsive support around ageing, serious illness, dying, grief, and care.

For many people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, conversations around palliative care can be shaped by culture, faith, language, migration experiences, family roles, and differing understandings of illness, care, and decision-making.

We remain committed to supporting culturally inclusive approaches to palliative and end-of-life care through workforce development, shared learning, and community conversations.

For many people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, mothers are often the heart of family traditions — the ones who carry language, recipes, stories, faith, and cultural values across generations. 💐

They are often the quiet organisers, carers, interpreters, protectors, and storytellers who help families stay connected to both culture and community, even far from home.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and wisdom of mothers, grandmothers, aunties, and mother figures from all backgrounds — including the many older women in our communities whose experiences, sacrifices, and care continue to shape future generations.

At Multicultural Aged Care, we recognise the importance of honouring culture, identity, and belonging at every stage of ageing and care.

Wishing everyone a warm and meaningful Mother’s Day. ❤️

We were proud to host our recent Ageing, Wellness and Diversity Expo at The Lights Community & Sports Centre on April 17.

It was a meaningful day bringing together community members, service providers, and organisations to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing across the aged care sector. From engaging conversations to valuable resources, the event created space for connection and support.

We were especially honoured to showcase vibrant cultural performances and present our Multicultural Senior Leadership Awards, recognising outstanding contributions within our community.

A sincere thank you to the Hon Katrine Hildyard MP for joining us and supporting the event - your presence made the day even more special.

We’re grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to making the expo such a success!
