We are incredibly grateful to have been part of the World Ballet Crown 2026. ๐Ÿ‘‘
โ€‹
Adelaide Ballet has believed in the mission of the World Ballet Crown from day one. Opportunities like this can change a young dancerโ€™s life, creating meaningful connections, inspiration and pathways for the future.
โ€‹
Our involvement began at the South Australian Semi-Final, where members of our team contributed to the event: Adelaide Ballet Artistic Director Rejane Garcia served as a judge, while our coach, Valerie Tereshchenko joined the faculty as a teacher.
โ€‹
Congratulations to founders Yolande Dick and Moira Coops, and to the entire WBC team, for delivering such a brilliant and beautifully organised event. Thank you for the warm welcome and for bringing together so many talented dancers, esteemed judges, choreographers, peers and members of the wider dance community. The support and sense of unity across the industry were truly inspiring.
โ€‹
We were immensely proud of our emerging artist Elia Noon, who performed beautifully and represented Adelaide Ballet at the Gala Grand Final night. Our Artistic Directors Rejane Garcia and Sarah Humeniuk were also honoured to teach, present a "talk" on "Professional Journey", observe Andrey Klemmโ€™s inspiring classes and connect with the next generation of dancers.
โ€‹
At Adelaide Ballet, we are working tirelessly to establish a professional ballet company that strengthens Australiaโ€™s classical ballet ecosystem, creates more employment opportunities and connects this beautiful art form with wider audiences. Meeting so many gifted young dancers who may one day benefit from this work made the experience even more meaningful.
โ€‹
We were also delighted to award four scholarships to Adelaide Balletโ€™s 2027 Summer Ballet Intensive at our studio in Tusmore. Congratulations to our scholarship recipientsโ€”we cannot wait to welcome you to Adelaide and work with you again!
โ€‹
To every dancer who participated: be proud of yourself. You gave your best, and your best is enough. Keep believing, learning and working towards your dreams.
โ€‹
Thank you to the World Ballet Crown for having us, to the dancers for inspiring us, and to our industry colleagues for sharing their knowledge and energy. Our passion for this art form unites us all.
โ€‹
See you again next year, WBC family! ๐Ÿ’™

*** Introducing our new dancer, Tatiana Verza ***
โ€‹
Adelaide Ballet is proud to welcome Tatiana Verza to our Artistic Team.
โ€‹
"Tatiana Verza was born in Campinas, Sรฃo Paulo, Brazil, and began her ballet training through the Vaganova method. Over the years, she developed a broad foundation in classical ballet, modern dance, contemporary dance and jazz, studying at Conservatรณrio Carlos Gomes and Instituto das Artes Luana Lopes.
Her performance experience includes work with Meandros, a contemporary dance collective connected to the University of Campinas, and Danรงa Cultura Company, under the direction of Makena Milani. Throughout her training and career, Tatiana has performed a wide range of classical and contemporary repertoire, including The Nutcracker, Coppรฉlia, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, The Sleeping Beauty, La Esmeralda and Carmen.
Tatiana also holds a degree in Physical Education from UNICAMP, where she developed research in biomechanics applied to classical ballet. This background has deepened her understanding of technique, movement quality and the dancerโ€™s body.
Since relocating to Australia, Tatiana has taught classical ballet, repertoire and private coaching across Adelaide and Canberra, working with students from beginner to advanced levels. She is excited to continue sharing her passion for dance as a company dancer with Adelaide Ballet. "
โ€‹
Welcome Tati!

Last Sunday, we hosted the second edition of Adelaide Ballet Circle at our studio โ€” an intimate and exclusive gathering with a small group of guests who came together to hear more about the vision, mission, community impact, and future we are building here in South Australia through Adelaide Ballet.
The afternoon was deeply meaningful. So much so that we became completely immersed in the conversations, connection, and sharing that we forgot to take photos to capture the event ๐Ÿคฆ

Our emerging artist Elia Noon performed The Dying Swan and an excerpt from Murray Whispers, bringing such beauty and emotion into the room.
But perhaps the greatest highlight of the afternoon was the presence of the wonderful Ms Jane Paul โ€” a beautiful surprise who flew all the way from Perth to attend Adelaide Ballet Circle.

Jane danced with Madame Kira Bousloff during the very first seasons of West Australian Ballet over 70 years ago. At 84 years old, and currently battling cancer, she walked into our studio and immediately our hearts connected with hers.
She shared stories, memories, and insights from those early pioneering years of ballet in Australiaโ€ฆ and honestly, so much of what she described felt incredibly familiar to what we are experiencing now as a young independent company trying to build something meaningful from the ground up.

These words from Jane sent to us via message will stay with us forever:

โ€œI feel honoured to have been with you today. I do understand the stresses and limitations on time and money with your young company; but if anyone can pull it off as Kira Bousloff did for WA, it will be you and your dedicated staff.
I came back to the hotel literally dancing in my head and walking on air!! For a few short hours I felt young and vibrant again - thank you. It was like going home being with lovely, warm talented people!
God bless; good luck to you all. Jane xโ€

And somehow, the only photo we took during the entire afternoon was with the extraordinary Ms Jane Paul herself โค๏ธ

Moments like these remind us why we do this. Ballet is more than performance. It is legacy, connection, courage, and community.
