After much ado ....
Speak, Hear is back and ready to resume on Tuesday 3rd June

As you may or may not know, the venue has changed. We will now be meeting at

'Blue Ivy'
279A Hindley St, Adelaide

(Literally, over the road from our previous location)

Same operations as before ~

🍷Doors open 6pm
🍽 Food available from 6.30pm
🎤 Open mic from 7pm sharp
🖐 $5 entry (cash preferred)

👉👉👉👉👉👉 Please note that this venue is located upstairs. I realise this may restrict some individuals and I sincerely apologise for that inconvenience. I am happy to assist people that need the support with stairs ↗️

I just wanted to Thank everyone for that has messaged me asking when Speak, Hear will resume ...

✨️ I am pleased to inform you that our new location for events will be held at 'Blue Ivy' situated on Hindley Street!

We are very close to up & running again,
I am just waiting on some red tape to clear on the venues part.

It is with much sadness that I inform you all that Wakanda Multicultural Bar has officially closed!

✨️ This funky venue was residence to the Speak, Hear meets every month from the very beginning

Wakanda was more than a bar, it was a diverse community hub and we all loved it!

Darlington, on behalf of myself, the writers community & Adelaide at large; we graciously Thank you 🙏

A special shout out to beautiful Jumana as well for her support & handling bar operations when Darlington had other business to tend to

🎤 Speak, Hear will hopefully resume April 🤞

I am waiting on consent before I can announce the new venue that Speak, Hear will be meeting at ... so please continue to watch this space!!

✨️ Greetings my lovely people

As you know, Wakanda Multicultural Bar is closing at the end of the month and Speak, Hear will be relocated to a new venue in the city (info coming soon)

I think it would be a wonderful gesture if any of you had the time, that you go in for 1 last drink (or 3) and show your support to Darlington.
He has been nothing but a solid platform and deserves the last drink hurrah

✨️ First gig back for 2025 and it was a pretty good turn out considering the heat we had today ... so if you were at Speak, Hear tonight my utmost THANKS for joining us 🫶

We had a couple of new faces in the crowd which always pleases me 😁😁 Welcome!

Our feature tonight was the amazing & very cool Paul R Kohn. A truly fantastic and inspiring performance Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou 🙏

As usual, I'd like to give my heartfelt Thanks to both Nigel Ford & Martin Christmas for their love & support. Your efforts every month mean so much, you have my deepest gratitude 🙏

I'd like to say Thankyou to my daughter Kele for her help & expertise with all the operations at the door upon entry

And once again, my biggest Thanks must go to Darlington. You have been nothing but a solid rock. You have supported all my business enterprises and given me the space in your venue to host them all; I hold you in high esteem 🙏

For those of you that couldn't make it tonight
I made the sad announcement that Wakanda Multicultural Bar will be closing at the end of February and therefore Speak, Hear will NOT be operating until further notice.
I will definitely be continuing the event in a NEW establishment which is opening in Adelaide ... this will be disclosed as soon as I have authority to reveal the exciting news, so ...

Hello, Hello, Hello, G'day!

✨️ Speak, Hear is back on for February 2025 ... The date is Tuesday 4th February in case you weren't aware and our feauture Poet is the very wonderful Paul R Kohn

Paul is an award-winning writer of poetry and performer of spoken word. Based in SA, he’s featured at local, national and international events, sharing words from his debut poetry collection, ‘Soul Refraction’ (Dragonfly Publishing). His words have also been published in many national and international anthologies, both online and in print. Paul writes as a way of processing, understanding, healing and growing, and shares his written and spoken word poetry all over Australia and the world in the hope that it helps others too.

Be sure to mark your diaries and keep 4th February free to join us for a fabulous night if Spoken Word
