Finished Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza today – a bit late to the party on this one, but as a continuation from Infinite Wealth it was a great ride.

What can I say – I love Goro Majima. He’s one of the best characters in the Yakuza series – quirky, hilarious, slightly unhinged – but a yakuza through and through. Having a game completely centred around him, with amnesia, then throwing in the pirate angle felt like a match made in heaven.

There have been a few pirate games released lately, but this one really hit the mark – awesome ship battles, treasure hunting and solid exploration throughout. I’d honestly love to see RGG do a fresh standalone pirate series. That would be ace.

Classic Yakuza chaos mixed with unique pirate action, and a great little snippet at the end to keep the series going 😉

These Kotobukiya 1/6 Yakuza figures are worth every penny – great price, huge, and the detail is insane. Just sitting here admiring Majima’s beautiful mug. Very happy with this one – such an awesome addition to the collection.

Perfect timing too, because I’m currently playing Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, so this landing today just feels right ☠️🏴‍☠️

130 hours later… didn’t expect this one to take that long, but Square absolutely went all out.

Originally a mobile gacha game, then rebuilt from the ground up, and you can really feel it. Octopath 0 has it all — town building, massive world exploration, recruiting your crew, and journeys that literally take you into heaven and hell.

Some bosses really made me sweat — the kind that force you to rethink your strategy, grind levels, and actually earn the win. Classic Octopath. Brutal, but ridiculously satisfying.

Loved it… but also glad it’s done 😅 These games take everything out of you, yet somehow give it all back.

The soundtrack hits, the 2D-HD visuals are gorgeous, and the characters are awesome.

If you’re jumping in, you’re in for a ride.

Have a bit of a backlog of gear to show you guys that’s landed recently, but today something arrived that I’m really excited about.

Just before Christmas I came across an ad from Yolopark, a China-based company known for their high-quality model kits. They were teasing a brand-new Samurai Pizza Cats diecast kit of Speedy Cerviche, and when I realised it worked out to under $100 shipped, I smashed that buy button instantly.

And honestly? It’s worth every cent.

You get multiple face plates, interchangeable hands, and two full bodies — yep, two complete figures for display. One in Speedy’s samurai battle armour, and the other in his iconic pizza delivery uniform. The engineering and finish on this thing are seriously impressive.

Huge props to .official for knocking this out of the park. Fingers crossed it sells well enough that we eventually get Polly Esther and Guido Anchovy to round out the collection 🤞🍕

Another thing I forgot to add to the Black Friday batch was a new controller. It’s called Chroma Teal, but my eyes are seeing straight-up Frogger green — and that’s why I love it. 😂 Either the colour’s lying… or I’m going colour blind. And honestly, you can never have too many controllers. It’s collecting, not a problem. 😌🎮

Black Friday sales calling! Wanted to upgrade my terrible PlayStation Portal charger and grabbed the official PowerA charging dock. It’s a sweet little unit with LED lights that cycle through different modes, plus a magnetic USB-C adapter that snaps on clean. The LED indicator even breathes orange while charging and flashes blue once it’s fully topped up. Really happy with this little upgrade to the setup.

Ok, I lied - one last one. During the unboxing, I did some reorganising on the Berserk cabinet. The manga is now on the bookshelf, and I was able to give some of the larger figures a bit more viewing room.

Pretty happy with how it’s looking now, and there should be some space for a few more POP UP PARADE releases. Hoping to snag a Casca, Schierke, and Isidro soon! 😄🖤

Last one for today - we’ve gone from 1/6 to teeny tiny! I’ve been smashing out the Kingdom anime at the moment. While the animation in the first season was a bit of a task to get through, I’ve fallen in love and just hit season 6.

I found these little busts on Marketplace for cheap. Admittedly, I thought they’d be a little bigger, but hey - I don’t have much room left, so they’re perfect. These guys are done by MegaHouse and cram a ton of detail in for something so small.

Next off the bat is Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza: Like a Dragon by Kotobukiya - they absolutely hit this out of the park. The scale for 1/6 is great; he just feels huge, and his portrait for me is bang on.

I’ve got Majima and Ichiban on preorder and I’m very much looking forward to having all three lined up. I’d love to see more companies doing 1/6 - just the perfect size: more detail but still a great size to collect.

The past few days I’ve been knocked around with Covid, and a few exciting things have rocked up that I haven’t even been well enough to unbox!

First off the bat - the Gecco Guts repaint!
As you can see compared to the original, they’ve absolutely gone over and above with the new paint job. The detail is insane.

They also included the crossbow and Puck, which is a great touch. My only gripe: they’ve supplied double-sided tape for Puck to sit on his shoulder. I don’t want to risk affecting the paint, so I’ve decided to keep him on the stand instead. A keyhole or proper plug-in system would’ve been so much better.

Still - a seriously impressive piece, even while I’m dying on the couch. 😅🖤
