Finished Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza today – a bit late to the party on this one, but as a continuation from Infinite Wealth it was a great ride.
What can I say – I love Goro Majima. He’s one of the best characters in the Yakuza series – quirky, hilarious, slightly unhinged – but a yakuza through and through. Having a game completely centred around him, with amnesia, then throwing in the pirate angle felt like a match made in heaven.
There have been a few pirate games released lately, but this one really hit the mark – awesome ship battles, treasure hunting and solid exploration throughout. I’d honestly love to see RGG do a fresh standalone pirate series. That would be ace.
Classic Yakuza chaos mixed with unique pirate action, and a great little snippet at the end to keep the series going 😉
