With the season now announced, I can happily tell you that I’m in the middle of composing a piece for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. As part of the Cybec 21st Century Australian Composers’ Program, four of us have been commissioned to write new works for the opening concert of 2026.

My piece will be doing something with auditory illusions... do come along and listen if you’re around - Melbourne friends I’d love to see you! It’s 24th Jan 2026 at the Iwaki Auditorium in Melbourne, and will be available online too.

Turns out a giant Goliath cellist actually works as soloist and any quiet effects become like asmr but with great presence (in Luke’s work ‘Vanishing Point’)

Loved working with friends at Ensemble Musikfabrik in Adelaide. My music has become truly theirs, and their skill astounds me every time I hear the program! This time with Liza Lim Dylan Lardelli Gordon Williamson Juliet Palmer Richard Barrett, performed with David Moran Justin Julian and students of Elder Conservatorium.

It was very moving to share music with friends and family, with a great turnout.

Excited for this project as they continue to Canada on their tour… Come back soon 💛
