Adelaide parents of 3 to 6-year-olds, this one is for you.

I get asked all the time, what is .ivy.art ?

Honestly? It is hard to explain until you see it. But I will try.

It is not a craft class. It is not a play session. It is the structured creative development program I built for the window that matters most, ages 3 to 6, when the brain is wiring focus, persistence and emotional regulation for life.

My qualified educators are here every week. Same faces, same structure, same safe space for your child to try something hard, get it wrong, and try again.

And then your child comes home and tells you their brain has grown.

That is Mini Ivy.

She scrunched up the paper and pushed it away. Again.

 Not because she’s a quitter. Because nobody’s taught her yet that getting it wrong is part of the process.

 Dr Carol Dweck at Stanford spent decades studying this. Children who believe ability is fixed — that you’re either good at something or you’re not — quit the moment it feels hard. Because trying and failing feels like proof.

 The brain between 3 and 6 is still deciding which response becomes the default. That window doesn’t stay open.

 Art is the best place to practise staying with something difficult — because there’s no wrong answer. No grade. No pass or fail. Just a child learning that when something doesn’t go to plan, she can try a different way.

 That’s not an art lesson. That’s the foundation of every hard thing she’ll face in Year 1 and beyond.
