Fifth Business Theatre Company Fifth Business Theatre Company provides a unique Performing Arts experience, catering for participants of all ages.

Our staff have years of experience and are passionate about nurturing artists and seeing them thrive in their creative potential. YOUTH TEAM
This programme is open to students currently studying from Year 4 to Year 12. Students will participate in weekly skills training classes and work towards showcases or productions throughout the year. Classes run on Saturday morning from 10:00am until 12:30pm throughout each term. THE STUDIO
This program is a collaborative ensemble specialising in creating self-devised work and skills training. The Company is open to adults who have completed Year 12 and are looking for a weekly connection with fellow thespians to grow in their theatre skills, develop a positive Performing Arts community and participate in the creation, production and performance of theatre. Sessions run on Monday evenings from 7:30pm until 9:30pm throughout each school term. THE SPACE
This is our semi-professional performance focussed branch. Participants, rehearsal details and performance season vary depending on the project. PRODUCTIONS
We will hold Showcases throughout the year for our Saturday School students. Students will not need to audition for these performances. An Annual Production will take place each year. Students will be required to audition if they wish to take part in this production. The Theatre Company will not accept under any circumstances, requests for participants to be given preferential treatment in auditioning or given a part. The final determination of each part or role shall rest with the Directors.

This is your chance to be part of a tale as old as time.

With our Audition Preparation Sessions beginning this Saturday, now is the perfect time to join the adventure! Over the next three Saturdays, you'll learn the audition material, build your confidence, and develop your acting, singing, and performance skills alongside our experienced creative team.

With the term well underway, there are now two ways to be part of our 2027 Youth Team production:
* Audition Preparation Sessions – Saturday 5, 12 and 19 September. $75 fee for all three sessions.
* Audition Only – Join us on Saturday 26 September for our official auditions.

As we head into our final weekend of W;T, from the cast and crew, we simply want to say thank you.

To every audience member who has joined us over the past week - thank you for laughing with us, reflecting with us, and so generously entering into Vivian’s story. It has been a privilege to share this remarkable play with you, and your responses have meant the world to our cast and creative team.

Meet the characters of W;T.

E.M. Ashford is Vivian’s mentor in the world of academics, an exacting scholar, who understands the impact of punctuation on the meaning of Donne’s line, “And Death shall be no more; Death thou shalt die!” Capital letters and exclamation marks elevate death to an hysterical Shakespearian drama, while a simple comma, however, creates the gentlest of pauses between life and death. Ashford’s personal warmth and understanding of life, death, soul and God provide insight and peace for Vivian.

Meet the characters of W;T.

Dr Jason Posner is an old scholar of Vivian’s course in metaphysical poetry. Jason’s ambition and relentless pursuit of knowledge spark an unwelcome note of self-awareness in Vivian. His research fascination with the mechanisms of cancer is an all- consuming drive towards understanding, and a possible future cure, but at the cost of connection to those experiencing the reality of cancer.
