Adelaide Cemetery Tours' Trailblazing Women self-guided tour explores the personal trials and inspirational achievements of some of South Australia’s leading ladies, whose final resting place is at West Terrace Cemetery.🌷🎗️

This International Women’s Day we commemorate the strengths and inspirational achievements of women, their varied talents and their lasting contributions to the advancement of society and to our state.

Pictured is Augusta Zadow. Zadow dedicated herself to helping women find decent employment for fair wages in South Australia. She was a driving force in establishing the Working Women’s Trade Union in 1890, which fought for the rights of women in the workforce. Zadow’s work helped set standards across South Australia for women’s apprenticeships, workers’ wages, maximum shift lengths and workplace safety.
