My beautiful bombe commode today on Annie Sloan Australia! (Annie Sloan products purchased at Gitanjali; validation, advice and encouragement to go crazy they were free from beautiful Helen).
What a totally edible piece of lusciousness created by Adelaide Painter, Emilio from I know stuff and things.
We love the way Emilio has combined this very traditional and beautiful sideboard with the exciting contrast of Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan in Firle.
Emilio purchased Chalk Paint® and Annie Sloan products from Gitanjali in Adelaide, SA where he also received some advice- see https://www.anniesloan.com/stockists/australasia/australia/gitanjali-2616
As stockist Helen Doody comments: “When Emilio first found the piece it had been painted completely in cream. The paint hid these beautiful marquetry drawer fronts. Emilio has restored the timber and brought it back to life with Annie Sloan Dark Wax (a great way to hide little scratches too) and framed the drawers with a cabinet of vivid Firle green. The marble top and sexy shape of the chest is now revealed. Modern? Traditional? It’s any ones opinion.... no disputing the result though. Just beautiful!”
Maybe you’re looking to bring an old piece like this alive in a new and refreshing way. You can find an Annie Sloan Stockist near you at https://www.anniesloan.com/stockists/ and they will be happy to offer advice, colour ideas or deliver to your door if not open.
