"The Offering to the Spiral"

— A Voyage Between Two Worlds
She rode the great Turtle
out past the edge of forgetting,
past the gulls who still
remembered her grandmother's voice,
past the rainbow bending low to bless her passing,
past the otter, the seal, the salmon,
the whale humming beneath the deep.
Each of them swam up to greet her —
not as strangers,
but as the cousins she had
crossed lifetimes to find again.

In her hand she carried a small bouquet:
sweetgrass, sage, cedar,
three wildflowers, a single feather.
The medicine her people had refused to let the world take.
She lifted it toward the great spiral of stars
the way a daughter lifts a candle
toward her mother's tired face.

Take this back, she whispered.
It came from you. It was never mine to keep.
And the galaxy bent down to receive the offering,
and the Turtle sang an old song through the water,
and somewhere far behind her,
the world she came from finally began to heal.

Don’t go outside your house to see the flowers.
My friend, don’t bother with that excursion.
Inside your body there are flowers.
One flower has a thousand petals.
That will do for a place to sit.
Sitting there you will have a glimpse of beauty
inside the body and out of it,
before gardens and after gardens.

We cannot keep speaking about mental health as though it exists only in the mind.

The body remembers too.

Chronic stress changes the nervous system.
Anxiety shows up in the chest, stomach, muscles, sleep, breathing, hormones, energy levels, even inflammation.

Trauma is not just a thought.
Overwhelm is not just “being emotional.”
Burnout is not just “being tired.”

The body and mind are constantly communicating with each other.

This is why healing often requires more than positive thinking alone.

Sometimes healing looks like:
🌸 resting,
🌸 slowing down,
🌸 regulating the nervous system,
🌸 feeling safe again,
🌸 eating properly,
🌸 moving your body,
🌸 learning your triggers,
🌸 breathing deeper,

and finally listening to what your body has been trying to say all along.

You cannot heal a system you continue to ignore 🤍 the nervous system controls everything.

I prayed for change, so I changed my mind.
I prayed for guidance and learned to trust myself.
I prayed for happiness and realized I am not my ego.
I prayed for peace and learned to accept others unconditionally.
I prayed for abundance and realized my doubt kept it out.
I prayed for wealth and realized it is my health.
I prayed for a miracle and realized I am the miracle.
I prayed for a soul mate and realized I am the One.
I prayed for love and realized it’s always knocking, but I have to allow it in.

“I’ve noticed something about people who make a difference in the world: They hold the unshakable conviction that individuals are extremely important, that every life matters. They get excited over one smile. They are willing to feed one stomach, educate one mind, and treat one wound. They aren’t determined to revolutionize the world all at once; they’re satisfied with small changes. Over time, though, the small changes add up. Sometimes they even transform cities and nations, and yes, the world."

Whisper of Wings

She closes her eyes
and the world does not fade
it deepens.
The wind becomes a voice,
the quiet a drum beneath her ribs.

A dragonfly rests upon her hand,
light as a memory not yet spoken,
its wings trembling with ancient breath
as if time itself had come
to sit beside her.

She feels them
the ones before her
in the soft hum between heartbeats,
in the warmth curling through her fingers,
in the stillness that is not empty.

“They are here,” the river once told her,
and now she believes
for the air carries names
she does not hear
but somehow knows.

The dragonfly does not speak in words,
yet its silence is full
of fires once lit,
of songs once carried over open plains,
of hands that held the same sky.

She breathes,
and they breathe with her.
She stands,
and she is not alone.

Night Blessing

May the night gather around you
with a calm that feels familiar,
as if you have returned
to a place that has always known you.
The outer world grows quiet,
and something within you
begins to settle into its own depth.
Let yourself rest there.
In this stillness,
there is a sense of shelter,
a soft assurance
that you are held within a greater rhythm.
May your thoughts loosen their hold,
your body soften into rest,
your spirit find its natural balance again.
Sleep,
and feel yourself held
by the vast, breathing night.
