Join us for an immersive Art and Nature Walk Workshop, where we will explore the rich biodiversity of the Danube area through the lens of art.

Guided by biologist Florian Etl and artists Danny Nedkova and Yilmaz Vurucu, participants will engage with nature from an artistic perspective: drawing, listening, photographing, storytelling and creating.

This workshop is designed to foster a deeper connection with the natural world, blending scientific observation with creative expression and is open to all levels of experience and knowledge.
Participants will receive reading materials for inspiration before the workshop.

All levels of artistic competence are welcome!
Who Should Attend:
Artists, nature enthusiasts, students, and anyone curious about exploring the intersection of art and ecology.
No prior artistic experience is required: just bring your curiosity and creativity!

🎨🌿 Art and Nature Walks Together - A Week inspired by nature.
As Xsentrik Arts, we had the pleasure of hosting 30 young people from Austria, Turkey, Poland, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia in Vienna for an unforgettable Erasmus+ Youth Exchange.
Together, they:
✨ Explored nature through guided walks
🎬 Created films and soundscapes inspired by the natural world
🖌️ Painted a stunning public mural at Brünner Straße underpass
🌍 Exchanged cultures, shared traditions, and built lasting friendships
💚 Discovered new ways to express environmental awareness through art
The result? A permanent symbol of sustainability in Vienna's 21st district, powerful short films about biodiversity, and 30 young people returning home as ambassadors for nature and creativity.

A permanent symbol of sustainability in Vienna's 21st district, made possible by the program and our 30 participants.

The mural was made possible through the support of the district of Floridsdorf and district mayor Georg Papai - it was a pleasure to have him visit the site and exchange with our young participants.

👩‍🎨🖌️Internationales Jugendprojekt hübscht S-Bahn-Station Brünner Straße auf! Durch die Initiative von Yilmaz Vurucu wurde im Rahmen eines Erasmus+ Projekts im November gemeinsam mit 25 jungen Studierenden aus fünf Ländern eine Fokuswoche in Floridsdorf zum Thema Natur, Nachhaltigkeit und Kunst umgesetzt. Krönender Abschluss war die gemeinsame Gestaltung eines Wandgemäldes zum Thema Umweltschutz. Als Bezirksvorsteher habe ich tatkräftig bei der Such nach einer geeigneten Wandfläche unterstützt. Geworden ist es schließlich eine 5 mal 5 Meter große Fläche bei der Unterführung der S-Bahn Station Brünner Straße. Ich freu immer, wenn der öffentliche Raum bei uns in Floridsdorf, durch solche Projekte eine Aufwertung erfährt – besonders, wenn dabei junge Menschen involviert sind!🤗

Our Art and Nature Walks Together project has been quite rewarding. 30 participants from 5 countries spent a week in Vienna, connecting with nature and getting creative with the inspiration it provides. As part of the project, our participants created a mural in Floridsdorf one that symbolizes environmental sustainability and the importance of nature. has shared the project and the results of our work as an alternative mural / graffiti example on their page.

XsentrikArts ist ein gemeinnütziger Projekt-Inkubator aus Wien, der Kunst, Forschung und Austausch verbindet, um sozialen Wandel und Nachhaltigkeit zu fördern. Im Erasmus+ Projekt „Art and Nature Walks Together“ kamen Ende November 2025 Jugendliche aus fünf verschiedenen Ländern in Wien zusammen, um sich kreativ mit Natur und Umwelt auseinanderzusetzen.

Während der Woche entstanden Filme, Bilder und vieles mehr – Höhepunkt war ein großes Umwelt-Mural an der ÖBB-Unterführung Brünner Straße, gestaltet unter Anleitung der Künstlerin Milena Schwaerzler.

Das Werk soll Bewusstsein für Nachhaltigkeit und Biodiversität schaffen und die lokale Community zum Austausch anregen.

A special thanks to NGO NEST Berlin for hosting the final evaluation meeting of the “Cultural and Historical Awareness for Active Citizenship’’ [CHAC] project - a KA2 Youth project funded by the Erasmus Plus programme.
