📖 A new study reveals that regular engagement with the arts—whether visiting exhibitions, attending concerts, or practicing art yourself—can slow down biological aging.

Researchers from University College London compared the health benefits of cultural engagement to those of a weekly physical workout.

According to the study, published in the journal Innovation in Aging, individuals who engage with art at least once a week demonstrated «younger» health indicators and DNA markers on average compared to those who rarely do. In a sample of 3,556 UK adults, the effect was particularly pronounced in individuals over 40, whose biological aging process was approximately 4% slower.

The authors suggest that art should be viewed not merely as a cultural pastime, but as a legitimate health-promoting practice on par with physical exercise.

Prague’s most hypnotic modern landmark: the Franz Kafka Head. 🌀

Created by the famous Czech artist David Černý and opened on October 31, 2014, this 11-meter sculpture sits right outside the Quadrio shopping center. It is a stunning tribute to one of Prague’s greatest writers and a key figure of 20th-century literature.

How it works: The monument weighs around 42 tons and consists of 42 independent stainless steel mirror discs. They constantly rotate, completely dissolving Kafka’s face before perfectly assembling it back together over a 15-minute cycle.

Fun fact: In 2024, the sculpture underwent a massive mechanical overhaul to upgrade its rotation system and ensure it keeps moving smoothly for years to come.
