Gratulation an Tobias Wögerer! Der Dirigent unserer Neujahrskonzerte ist der neue Assistenzdirigent des wunderbaren Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Ab 29.12. geht es mit den Proben los. Am 1.1. dann in Ried i. Innkreis und am 6.1. in Bad Gleichenberg!

BREAKING NEWS: TOBIAS WÖGERER is appointed Assistant Conductor of the GMJO.

Austrian Conductor TOBIAS WÖGERER studied cello at the University “Mozarteum” Salzburg and at the University of Music and Arts in Vienna. Currently, he is studying orchestral conducting with Prof. Nicolás Pasquet and Prof. Ekhart Wycik at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar.

He succeeds Swiss conductor Lorenzo Viotti who has held this position since 2016/17 and was recently appointed Music Director of the Orquestra Gulbenkian in Lisbon. Other predecessors in the position of Assistant Conductor of the GMJO include Franz Welser-Möst (Music Director, The Cleveland Orchestra), Manfred Honeck (Music Director, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra), Patrick Lange (GMD State Theatre Wiesbaden), and David Afkham (Principal Conductor, Orquesta Nacional de España).

In his new position, TOBIAS WÖGERER will conduct two concerts with the GMJO in Lisbon in February 2019.

Because of the huge success, there will be a second New Year's Concert in Bad Gleichenberg on the 7th of january. We are already looking forward!!!
