Warm welcome to our artist-in-residence, Raed Ibrahim!

During his stay in Vienna, Raed Ibrahim will present a new work in public space on the wide sidewalk in front of philomena+. The project Sitting on the Sidewalk developed together with artist Marlene Hausegger and curator Sibylle Omlin will open on May 28, 2026, at 7 pm. Raed Ibrahim (*1971 in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia) lives and works as an artist and art educator in Amman, Jordan. He received his bachelor’s degree from the Fine Art Institute at the Lebanese University (1994). In 2014, he earned his MFA in Art in Public Spaces from EDHEA – École de Design et Haute École d’art du Valais in Sierre. His exhibition activities have taken him—in addition to exhibitions in Jordan—to Cairo, Paris, Switzerland, Singapore, and Seoul.
His interests lie in the development of an art-historical ontology, as well as in the discussion and improvement of the local and regional environment for art education, art production, and cultural policy. He specializes in public art and art interventions.
