Jasleen Kaur, a 38-year-old artist from Glasgow, has won this year’s Turner Prize for her exhibition Alter Altar. Known for blending personal, political, and spiritual themes, her work explores cultural memory through everyday objects like a vintage Ford Es**rt and kinetic handbells.

Raised in Glasgow’s Scottish Sikh community, Kaur studied silversmithing at the Glasgow School of Art and later earned a degree at the Royal College of Art. Her art has been showcased at the V&A Museum, and she continues to challenge perspectives on heritage and identity.
