Liquid Loft

Wegbeschreibung Website Service kontaktieren

Liquid Loft Vienna based contemporary dance company under the artistic direction of choreographer Chris Haring.

Liquid Loft was founded in 2005 by choreographer Chris Haring together with musician Andreas Berger, dancer Stephanie Cumming and dramaturgue Thomas Jelinek. In their performances and installations, Liquid Loft interconnect contemporary dance directly with other forms of contemporary art, in order to create a cohesive all-embracing piece of art. Their idiosyncratic visual and formal language, their distinctive acoustic stage-sets and professional dance production have earned Liquid Loft international recognition and awards like the Golden Lion for “Best Performance” at the 2007 Biennale in Venice.

“In December, contemporary music, performance and architecture once again converge in the latest production of SOIRÉE DANSANTE. Liquid Loft and PHACE transform REAKTOR into an immersive resonant space for Songs without Places (Lieder ohne Orte), a choreographic work based on the eponymous composition by Austrian composer and artist Christoph Herndler. Moving between contemporary music, choreographic performance and visual composition, the work creates a form of music theatre that deliberately moves beyond conventional stage and performance formats.”

„When does the pressure in our society become too great, when does the mind reshape his willingness into resistance, dragging its worn-out body along? A burning question, which the Spin-Off Version of the Viennese company Liquid Loft’s newest work HOLD&RESIST poses emphatically and in a fascinating manner.“
