findet das erste Black History Festival in Österreich statt. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf den verschiedenen Aspekten von Integration. In Österreich wächst eine immer größere Zahl von Kindern mit zumindest einem afrikanischen Elternteil heran. Neben der Integration in die österreichische Gesellschaft stehen zugleich die Bedürfnisse dieser Generation, unterschiedlichen Formen schwarzer Kultur jenseits
der Stereotype kennen zu lernen. Die Themenschwerpunkte des Festivals bewegen sich dem entsprechend von der Geschichte Afrikas sowie von Afrikanern in Österreich über die gesellschaftlichen und kulturellen Beiträge von Menschen afrikanischer Herkunft bis zur afrikanischen Diaspora in Lateinamerika, der Karibik, Nordamerikas und Europas. Das Festival präsentiert ein breites Programm aus Literatur, Kunst und Performances, Musik, Film und Kinderkultur sowie ein breites Angebot an Workshops. The Black History Festival is the first Festival in Austria of its kind. We are celebrating all those, regardless of race, who have contributed to the image of black people in Austria, positively. We are also celebrating the positive contribution of people of colour to Austria. Diversity aspects of integration: This festival is to promote the diversity aspects of integration. We acknowledge that there is a growing population of Austrian children with one African parentage. While integrated in the Austrian soceity, many have the need to connect without the blankets of the usual stereotypes. As such, the Black History Festival will present:
