We were delighted to welcome Seitenblicke to see our successful run of “Boeing Boeing” in Vienna. Thank you for being there and this wonderful review.

Marc Camoletti’s legendary Parisian farce brought the house down for three sparkling nights — with doors slamming, champagne flowing and impeccable comic timing from this wonderful company. Producer Jeannette Meinl and director Lisa Gray were also interviewed for the report.

Set in 1960s Paris, Bernard believes he has perfected a system of three fiancées — all airline hostesses — whose schedules never overlap. But when faster aircraft and unexpected visits disrupt the timetable, the apartment turns into what the review calls “a delightful air-traffic nightmare.”

The performances shine throughout the production: Jeannette Meinl as the long-suffering housekeeper Berthe, Pete Steele as the increasingly desperate Bernard, and Robert G. Neumayr delivering “a steady stream of slapstick hilarity” as Robert.

The three fiancées bring their own comic spark: Lisa Gray as Gretchen, Helena Steele as Gabriella and Caroline Krug as Gloria. The production also features lively musical moments with performers from the Bilingual Acting Academy (BSA), adding “a bright, playful lift” to the evening.”

The spotlight grande finale on the main cast and creatives..

✨SPOTLIGHT ON: LISA GRAY ✨
Gretchen – and Director 🌟

Our final spotlight lands with the captain of this theatrical flight. As Gretchen, the formidable German stewardess, and as director guiding the controlled chaos of Boeing Boeing, Lisa Gray brings precision, humour and a wealth of international experience to this production.

Raised in Austria and the UK, Lisa trained at Guildford School of Acting and the California State University, Sacramento, where she received a BA in Acting and MA in Directing. Since then she has worked in theatres in the UK (West End, Yvonne Arnaud Guildford…) and Austria (Wiener Metropol, Bregenzer Festspielhaus, Theater an der Josefstadt, Kammerspiele Graz…). In the US she toured with Tom Hanks’ Bay Area Shakespeare Company as Ophelia, played Elsa in Hollywood’s Disneyland and Jessica Rabbit at the Universal Studios. As a Mocap Artist Lisa played Lara Croft for the Game “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” and recently worked for Marvel. Lisa has worked for the ORF (Jahresrückblick Comedy) and as TV Host and Director for the BBC London and Surrey. Vienna’s English Audience might remember her as Eliza in “Pygmalion” (Juliusburg), Helga in “Bedful of Foreigners” (MUTH), Moxie in “Realive Values” (Studio Moliere), Christmas Past in “Christmas Carol” or Mrs.Chiltern in “An Ideal Husband” (both Theater Spielraum).

Next to acting and directing Lisa runs the BSA- Die Bilinguale Schauspielakademie für Film und Bühne (www.schauspielakademie.at), where she also teaches.

Meet Gabriella.

SPOTLIGHT ON: Helena Steele

Helena studied acting at LAMDA in London and has been working as a director, producer, writer/translator and actor since 2009.

Credits include: „Marchen ohne Ende" (Kabarett Simpl, 2025), „Venus & Jupiter" (Theater im Park, 2024), „Romeo & Julia" (Shakespeare in Mödling, 2023), „Sommernachtstraum" (Theater im Park, 2022), "Manche mögen's voll verschleiert" (Salzburger Landestheater, 2022), „Die Frauenvolksversammlung" (Sommerspiele Melk, 2020), „Julius Caesar" (Bronski & Grünberg Theater, 2019), „Richard III." (Bronski & Grünberg Theater, 2019), „Werther" (Bronski & Grünberg Theater and on tour, 2016-2020), as well as productions with Theater in der Josefstadt, Rabenhof Theater and Festspiele Berndorf.

She has been a frequent collaborator of Open House Theatre and joined the board in 2024. Credits for Open House Theatre include: „A Christmas Carol" (2016-2019 and 2025), „Lily in Fairytale Land" (2016), „Much Ado About Nothing" (2017), “The Effect" (2019).

She lands like a dream.
Radiant. Romantic. Absolutely certain she is the only fiancée in Paris. Meet Gloria.

SPOTLIGHT ON: Caroline Krug (née Ciglenec)

In “Boeing Boeing”, Caroline brings glamour, precision and sparkling wit to Gloria — navigating romance and rapidly shifting flight plans with irresistible charm.

Born in Australia and raised between Houston, Texas and Vienna, Caroline brings true international flair to our stage.

From winning multiple prizes at the Austrian and European Showdance Championships while still at school, to appearing in “Die Italienerin in Algiers” (Sommerfestspiele Klosterneuburg), “Samt und Seide” (Kammeroper Wien) and “The Next Generation” (Theater des Augenblicks), her career began with remarkable momentum.

She has since graced stages across Austria and Germany — from “Wiener Blut” (Wiener Operettensommer) and “Dialogues des Carmélites” (Theater an der Wien) to “Jesus Christ Superstar”.

At the Kammeroper she played Ginny in “Relatively Speaking”; at the Wiener Ateliertheater she appeared in Nestroy’s “Zeitvertreib” and “Häuptling Abendwind”.

Audiences may also know her as Martha Cratchit and Belle in “A Christmas Carol” (Vienna International Theater), as a featured dancer in the musical production “Phantasma” (Saarländisches Staatstheater), in “My Fair Lady” (Operettensommer Kufstein), “Viktor/Viktoria” (Stadttheater Klagenfurt), and in the ensemble of “Funny Girl” (Oper Graz).

She later played Valerie Clark in “A Chorus Line” (Stadttheater Klagenfurt) and appeared in “The Wizard of Oz”.

Her debut at the Wiener Volksoper was as the courtesan Tintinabula in “Die spinnen, die Römer!” She was part of the original cast of “Kiss Me, Kate” and was most recently seen as a Kit Kat Girl in “Cabaret”.
