Subatomic Sound label actively produces events and founded the annual Dub Champions Festival running 7 years in the USA and Europe. Dub Champions Festival was founded in New York City by Subatomic Sound, and is dedicated to featuring the world’s greatest dub pioneers from Jamaica to every continent worldwide - from the reggae roots to the future of electronic bass music. The festival has featured
one of kind performances like: the debut of Lee "Scratch" Perry's Super Ape album 40th anniversary tour; Scientist, Roots Radics, & Johnny Osbourne performing their classic dub album together live "Scientist Rids the World of the Curse of the Evil Vampires"; Clive Chin dubbing his original Augustus Pablo master tapes from the Java session; Adrian Sherwood & Pinch debuting their live collaboration. Other performers include Kode9, Mala, Sherwood & Pinch, Mad Professor, Disrupt, Screechy Dan, Clive Chin, Goth-Trad, RSD, Dubblestandart, Francois K, Addis Pablo, Victor Rice, Zion Train, The Bug, I-Grade Dub, DJ Madd, MoreSounds, Appleblim, DJ Sep, E3, Top Shotta Band, Deadly Dragon, Brother Culture, Roommate, Babylon System, Grand Ancestor, Geko Jones, Uproot Andy, Skarob and many more. Our goal is to build a global network of artists and event promoters across generations who are committed to educating, preserving, and pushing forward the sound and tradition of dub music through high quality music and events. Currently the festival is put on annually during winter and fall in different regions: September & October in the USA and February in Europe (Vienna, Amsterda, Linz with more cities to come). The Dub Champions Festival has roots extending back a decade. All the way back in 2002, Subatomic Sound started a bi-monthly live dub event in NYC called Dub Champions. From those events, an album developed and an album was released on Subatomic Sound with the aim of transforming what was once confined to the studio — the Jamaican dub reggae production style of the 1970s -- into a dynamic DJ soundsystem with live instruments and vocalists paired with a mixing board, vintage analog delay, and samplers to shape the sound of original tunes: tunes that blended reggae, but also hip-hop, drum and bass, blues, mid-east, and african influences: http://www.beatport.com/release/rolling/339727
