Meet the artists of Point of View – UP UP UP - Part 2

Continuing our introduction to the voices behind Point of View – UP UP UP, we turn to Istvan Antal. His work encompasses social interaction and explores the role of play as a means of examining social structures. He creates pieces that invite people to engage and spend time interacting with them. Between 2012 and 2014, he investigated the phenomenon of emigration, channeling his research into installation art.

Alongside his involvement in cultural mediation, teaching, and education, he developed a deep fascination with the concept of play, particularly in the context of essential everyday activities. His installations are not only interactive but also serve as functional objects, merging form, and content at the intersection of fine and applied arts.

He is particularly drawn to the ethos of metadesign, aiming to define and establish social, economic, and technical frameworks that foster innovative collaborative design. Over the past two years, he has had the opportunity to design public artworks in the form of playful sculptures. These projects are presented worldwide, though the majority of the sculptures have been created in Central Europe. The installations differ from traditional, static playgrounds by offering both mobility and versatility.

At their core, his works focus on creating educational, ageless, and playful sculptures that convey messages intended to prepare younger generations for the journey to maturity while also inspiring introspection in adults.

Currently on view: 27–30 November 2025 at the Institute for the Integration of Former Political Persecuted Persons, Tirana — part of Tirana Art Weekend

Special thanks to Satellite Zone for curating and supporting the project and to Bezirksvertretung Alsergrund for the support.

Meet the artists of Point of View - UP UP UP - Part 1

We’re excited to introduce the voices behind our upcoming exhibition, bringing together artists from Vienna and Tirana in a creative exchange.

Following our collaboration with Satellite Zone in June in Vienna for Point of View – Standpoint, this second chapter unfolds in Tirana. Point of View – UP UP UP continues the evolving dialogue between artists from both cities, exploring perception, perspective, and lived experience.

Olga Shcheblykina is a Vienna-based artist whose practice moves between painting and sculpture, creating hybrid forms that test the limits of structure, fragility, and transformation. Her work explores the invisible architectures that shape experience—from social norms to bodily tension—often through theatrical installations where objects grow, collapse, or resist their own frames. Her works investigate the intersection of personal resilience and collective systems. Shcheblykina has exhibited internationally, including recent solo and group shows in Austria and China.

Opening: 27 November 2025 at the Institute for the Integration of Former Political Persecuted Persons, Tirana — hosted as part of Tirana Art Weekend

Open to the public: 27–30 November 2025

Throwback to: The Gimmick! our group exhibition from March 28 to April 3, 2025.
The show explored the contradictions of the gimmick: cheap yet overpriced, outdated yet futuristic, trivial yet essential, where play, critique and fascination shared the stage.

These are some of the artworks from the exhibition.
