What a fantastic start to the new season! 🌈

With Welcome to 1030!, we celebrated the beginning of the 2026/27 season and our arrival in Neu Marx together. Veza Fernández & Tony Wagner, Catol Teixeira & Chaos Clay and Wojciech Grudziński created special moments with their performative interventions, while Gawdesque, Seba Kayan and DJ Keshi brought the evening to life with their music. A huge thank you to all the artists, everyone involved and our wonderful guests for making this evening unforgettable! Take a look at some of our favourite moments from the season opening!

WORLD PREMIERE ✨ Mzamo Nondlwana – Waiting for fall
What if joy is not an escape, but a strategy for survival?

In Waiting for fall, choreographer and performer Mzamo Jama explores the radical power of joy as resistance together with performers Evandro Pedroni, Helena Araújo and Pêdra Costa.

Rooted in q***r and migrant perspectives and inspired by South African and Brazilian dance forms such as Pantsula and Samba, the performance brings together movement, rhythm, humour and parody to imagine temporary collective futures.

Through call and response, collective dance and shared physical experience, performers and audience are invited to put joy into practice – as something active, communal and ongoing.

📍 studio brut, Zieglergasse 25, 1070 Vienna

ONE-TO-ONE 🐚 Amanda Piña / Studio Fortuna – Ancient Future Climate Bodies

What happens when we shift our attention from doing to being, from understanding to sensing?

Ancient Future Climate Bodies is a One-to-one sound performance for two audience members. Guided by sound, participants follow frequencies and narrations that open up new ways of experiencing the body through touch, sight and smell.

In an intimate choreography of perception, Amanda Piña / Studio Fortuna explores the body as part of a larger web of living relations and asks how we might adapt to climate change from an embodied, decolonial and post-naturalist perspective.

Yesterday we presented the first part of brut Wien’s 2026/27 programme – and we’re very happy to finally share what lies ahead. ✨

A big thank you to everyone who joined us, and especially to everyone on the podium: Bita Bell, Mzamo Nondlwana and Doris Uhlich who shared the stage with brut's new artistic director Tomasz Kireńczuk , brut's Commercial Director
Stephanie Höltschl, Katrin Brehm & Hanna Steinmair (Dramaturgy and Outreach)

Many thanks as well to Patricia Brück for interpreting the presentation into Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS).

And, of course, thank you to everyone who came, listened, asked questions and shared the morning with us. We’re looking forward to the new season and everything that’s coming next. 💜

⚡BIOF**K — LIFT Tanzkollektiv
