Want to make your own zine?

Join us for a 3-hour hands-on zine workshop in Vienna where we’ll cut, fold, arrange, experiment and turn your ideas into a real self-made publication.

You’ll learn the basics of zine-making — from page layout and sequencing to folding, cutting and assembling — and then create your own zine step by step.

No design software.
No previous experience.
No complicated techniques.

Just paper, scissors, images, words and ideas.

You’ll leave the workshop with a zine you made yourself — not just an idea for one.

You’ll get a short introduction to the history and contemporary culture of fanzines and independent publishing, followed by a step-by-step introduction to zine making — including page layout, sequencing and different folding techniques.

Then it’s your turn: you’ll create your own zine during the workshop and take it home with you. ✨

No previous experience needed — just bring your ideas and curiosity!

Whether you’ve never made a zine before or already love independent publishing, come cut, fold, experiment and make something of your own.

A look back at Fanzineist Vienna 2026 ✨

Three days full of independent publishing, artist books, zines, prints, performances, conversations and encounters!

This year we welcomed artists, publishers and visitors from around the world, bringing together different voices and creative practices under one roof.

Here are some moments from the fair: exhibitors sharing their works, the Art Book & Zine Exhibition, the energy of the afterparty with Ironica Los Culos (Ironica Los Culos) DJ set, and the amazing live performance by Rumbia (Rumbia)

From inside the fair: a visual record of the Fanzineist Vienna 2026 — moments of working, sharing, and being together!

A note from Deniz Beser:

“It’s been a little over a month since we wrapped up Fanzineist Vienna 2026. I needed some time before writing this, as I was quite exhausted from running the fair and needed a moment to rest and recover.

To all participating artists, publishers, collectives, and friends: thank you for trusting us with your work and your presence. Fanzineist only exists because of you, and that is something I never take for granted.

What we are building together has long become something larger than the fair itself. From the outside it might look like a structured event, but from the inside it is still very much a fragile, independent, and collective effort.

It is carried by many hands, long days, last-minute fixes, and an incredible amount of care.

Fanzineist has never only been about art books, zines, or objects. It is about encounter and community. Conversations that start at a table and continue somewhere else in the city. Friendships that form unexpectedly.

A huge thank you goes to our volunteers and team, who carried so much of the invisible weight of these days.

Presented as an interactive 3D virtual gallery, the exhibition offers artists, publishers, and independent collectives a dedicated space to showcase their publications online 🎨📖✨

Visitors can freely navigate the virtual space, zoom into details, explore the works closely, and access additional information about the publications and their makers. The platform also allows direct connection with exhibitors for selected purchases 🖱️🔍

Designed both as an exhibition and a discovery platform, it brings together a wide range of independent printed matter from different contexts and practices 📚✨

Yesterday, Fanzineist Vienna Art Book & Zine Fair came to an end ❤️
It was truly special to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Fanzineist together with all of you.🕺🪩💃🎂

Our videographer prepared a special recap video from Sunday, featuring artist & publisher stands, concerts, workshops, talks, and many beautiful moments from the fair.

A huge thank you to all the artists, publishers, musicians, workshop hosts, speakers, our team members, volunteers, partners and more than 5000 visitors who joined us this year and made Fanzineist Vienna such a special experience.✨📚

Day 2 at Fanzineist Vienna Art Book & Zine Fair was full of beautiful moments, new encounters and incredible energy. ❤️
Huge thanks to everyone who visited, exhibited, performed, shared their work and spent time with us throughout the weekend.

Today is the final day of the fair!
We are open from 12:00–19:00 with artists, zines, art books, prints, independent publishers and more.
