La lune est le soleil des statues, behauptete Jean Cocteau. Der Esperanto-Dichter Jorge Camacho überlegte dazu: Wenn die Statuen unseren Mond sehen, der, so wie sie, aus Stein ist, werden sie ihn im Vergleich zur Sonne wohl als viel „lebensnaher“ empfinden. Er ist ja wie sie. Die Sonne dagegen erscheint ihnen mehr für die beweglichen Figuren aus Fleisch, für uns Menschen. Daher würden die Statuen unsere Sonne „Mond“ nennen. Aber wenn man, so Camacho, den jeweiligen Gefühlswert der Worte
innerhalb der Statuenwelt beibehält, müsste man die Statuen selbst „Menschen“ und uns Menschen „Statuen“ nennen. „Per kio ni revenas al la unua verso de la poemo: La luno estas la suno de la statuoj.“ – „Dadurch kommen wir wieder zum ersten Vers des Gedichts zurück: Der Mond ist die Sonne der Statuen.“
La lune est le soleil des statues, Jean Cocteau suggested. Esperanto poet Jorge Camacho pondered the idea: when the statues see our moon, which, like them, is made of stone, they will likely perceive it as much more “lifelike” than the sun. After all, it is like them. The sun, on the other hand, will strike them as being more for the moving figures made of flesh, for us humans. The statues would, therefore, call our sun “moon.” If we keep to the respective emotional value of words within the world of statues, Camacho argued, we would have to call the statues themselves “humans” and us humans “statues.” “Per kio ni revenas al la unua verso de la poemo: La luno estas la suno de la statuoj.” – “This brings us back to the first verse of the poem: The moon is the sun of the statues.”
