Die Beats sind alle selber gebaut und die Hook-Lines selbst gesungen. Oder geschrien. Es geht um den Klassenkampf und arbeiten gehen aber nicht so Oi-mäßig sondern eher zeitgenössisch. bauSTELLE macht euch ein Angebot: Praktikum im Beat-Bergwerk. bauSTELLE bringt euch hin und holt euch sogar auch wieder ab. Im geräumigen, car-geshareten Skoda.

Sinnthese
Als „Sinnthese“ spielt Jakob Henneken nervösen Synth-Pop, der dem Noise schöne Augen macht. Trivial-radikale Texte und fragmentarische Sounds zwischen Klangkunst und dem Avant-Pop der NDW. Henneken wurde in Hamburg geboren und studiert zurzeit experimentelle und elektroakustische Komposition an der mdw in Wien.

Kino Kaorle starts into the next edition at Otto-Wagner-Areal! For our first screening at the new location, we’ve chosen the documentary Spiegelgrund. It is a film about the victims and family members who were affected by the children's euthanasia program at the "medical" department Am Spiegelgrund during the N**i era. The film weaves together their memories of the years 1940 through 1945 with the lasting effects these crimes continue to have to this day.

It is important to us that we are showing this film here at the Otto Wagner Areal. We do not want to view this place in isolation from its history; rather, we want to create a space where we can remember together, listen to one another, and engage in conversation about the connection between the past and the present.

As part of the programme, the Documentation Centre of Austrian Resistance (DÖW) is offering a 90-minute guided tour of the Otto Wagner Areal before the screening. The DÖW is a central institution for the research and documentation of National Socialism, resistance, political persecution, and far-right extremism in Austria. The tour (in german) starts at 5:00 pm and offers the opportunity to learn more about the history of the site before the film begins at 7:00 pm.

Following the screening of Spiegelgrund, there will be a Q&A and panel discussion with Nici Mairhofer from the DÖW. The discussion offers an opportunity to ask questions, share reflections on the film, and explore the broader historical and contemporary contexts of its themes.

In 2026, the Kaorle collective is dedicating itself to an exploration of the Otto Wagner Areal. Through regular contributions, we shed light on this multilayered site in order to get to know its significance, history, and present – and to make them visible.

This time, artist Julia Dorninger takes us on an artistic search for traces. In her contribution, she explores the question of how to read a place whose peaceful present stands in contradiction to its violent past. Amid blossoming orchard meadows and Art Nouveau architecture, she traces the hidden layers of the site with ink, graphite, and found natural materials – a place where more than 7,500 people fell victim to the N**i medical crimes. Her text shows how drawing on site connects historical knowledge with bodily experience, making the tension between idyll and trauma tangible.

Frau Sammer was born in Graz as an elderly lady, with a touch of dementia. It’s about everyday neighborhood conflicts, the processing of hipster cults, and, of course, about love. Using synth, e-bass, vocals (be it singing, speaking or rap), Frau Sammer generates divine gutter hymns and post-spam pop.

As part of this year’s Summer Fest, we invite you to pause, breathe, and immerse yourself in a performance of sound and presence. Together, we will be co-creating a live experience where guided mindfulness meditation and immersive sound become one. Through the weaving of voice, breath, flute, and atmospheric electronics, we’ll invite you on a journey to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and simply be. Lisa Teichmann is a Vienna-based flutist, electronic musician, and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Vienna. Through layers of atmospheric electronics and intuitive flute improvisation, she creates organic, immersive soundscapes that invite deep listening, relaxation, and quiet reflection.
Elisa Godino is a singer-songwriter, performer, and voice facilitator who creates spaces for connection, expression, and transformation through music, voice, and creative practice. Through gentle guidance, she invites participants to reconnect with their breath and body, soften into the present moment, and cultivate mindful awareness. Throughout the set, Elisa’s guided meditation & Lisa’s live soundscape will unfold together - responding to and supporting one another in real time - creating a shared experience of presence, rest, and deep listening.

The funky fruit formation VITAMINE SPA is dedicated to simple yet exciting observations of everyday life: fruit that suddenly develops an unexpected life of its own at night, speedminton matches, turtles that make love. The duo from Vienna, consisting of Rebecca and Tobi, makes juicy, feel-good Lo-Fi Pop that playfully strengthens the immune system.

EUROTEURO
With their new album „Magic,“ EUROTEURO, the Viennese music project led by songwriter and lyricist Peter T., marks a musical reorientation. Following their previous Volume releases „Magic“ is presented as EUROTEURO’s first cohesive album. It came together through a collaborative process involving, among others, Viennese musicians Alexander Kranabetter, Topsy Turvy, Katarina Maria Trenk, Soap&Skin, Farce, Voodoo Jürgens, and Elise Mory.

TAXI LOTTA
Stop for a second! Taxi Lotta will take you somewhere else! Ulla Suspekt and LiÆN blend p***y irony and hopeful heartache into a warmly familiar New Wave soundtrack. The two effortlessly shift between bright and weighty synths, while Ulla shows off her personality with eccentric bass and Liane with a soft voice. Electronic punk attitude meets distorted dream pop. Luckily, the two artists and musicians have joined forces, because together, in a harmonious sound design, they manage to subtly stir the hearts and bodies of their listeners.

Kira (the TWYKE) is a non-binary drag, audio, and performance artist. They work on angry and vulnerable pieces that are often autofictional. They understand artistic practice as an act of resistance and want to place themself radically within the gaps that open up in this fast-paced, violent, at times dystopian present. Their performances blend multimedia forms of expression from performance art with drag and theater. The audience is meant to feel like part of it: to look away caught in the act, to digest with a smirk, and to push the curtain aside. The applause may come accompanied by shame, frustration, and mutual empathy.
people
humming people is music that you can lose yourself in, only to be pulled back to reality by you legs dancing. Sometimes quiet, sometimes loud, but always for the “people” who tend to hang out in their own heads and therefore clash with the outside world. With their second EP, humming people are moving away from their previous melancholy towards bubblegum grunge à la Slow Pulp, Courtney Barnett or Wet Leg. All that gets combined with their usual depth.

Der zeichentisch ist ein offener Raum zum gemeinsamen Zeichnen – für alle, die Lust haben, mal wieder zu kritzeln, zu skizzieren oder einfach den Stift in die Hand zu nehmen. Ganz egal, ob Anfänger:in oder geübte Zeichner:in.

Der zeichentisch ist ein monatlich stattfindender, offener Raum für kreatives Experimentieren und gemeinsames Zeichnen. Er richtet sich an Menschen jeden Alters und Hintergrunds, die Freude am Zeichnen haben oder einfach den Montagabend kreativ verbringen möchten. Die Teilnahme ist ohne Anmeldung, Vorkenntnisse oder Leistungsdruck möglich.
Als niederschwelliger, wiederkehrender Treffpunkt lädt der zeichentisch dazu ein, Ideen auszuprobieren und Impulse aus der Begegnung mit anderen mitzunehmen. Eigene Utensilien und Inspirationsquellen können gerne mitgebracht werden, einfache Materialien stehen vor Ort zur Verfügung.
Der zeichentisch lebt von der Beteiligung der Community und der Vielfalt der Ausdrucksformen, die an diesem offenen Ort zusammenkommen. Es gibt kein festes Programm, keinen Kurs und keinen Leistungsdruck – im Mittelpunkt stehen der Prozess des Zeichnens, der Austausch und das freie Ausprobieren.
