Conservation of this 1644 Frankfurt edition by Szenci Molnár Albert has now been completed 📖

The volume arrived in a heavily deformed condition: the leather binding was worn and discoloured, the clasps were missing, and several leaves were damaged. The treatment included correcting the spine deformation, repairing damaged pages, and recreating the missing clasps.

Another historic volume preserved in a more stable condition for the future ✨

A book by Szenci Molnár Albert, published in Frankfurt in 1644 – before conservation 📖

The traces of time are clearly visible: the volume is deformed, while the sewing has fortunately remained intact. The leather binding is worn and discoloured, and the clasp that once held the wooden boards together is now lost.

Another story awaiting conservation – a chance to ensure its survival for the future ✨
