In this workshop with Antonia Dering, we explore the voice through singing, shouting, harmonizing and improvisation. Together we connect voice, body and movement, discovering how breath, emotion and collective sound can become powerful tools for expression.

HANDSTANDS: INVERSION

Upside down starts from the ground up.

In this workshop with Anna Biebl, you build a strong foundation for handstands through alignment, strength and body awareness. Together you explore balance, weight shifts and efficient movement mechanics, combining technical drills with playful inversions and movement exploration.

Whether you’re learning your first handstand or refining endurance, shapes and transitions, the exercises are adapted to your individual level.

In this interdisciplinary workshop with mirabella paidamwoyo* dziruni mwoyo with the kiss we explore grounding, self-awareness and embodied expression through movement, performance and collective presence. Together we listen to what we need, what we desire and how we want to express ourselves in the here and now.

Summer Circus School Vienna 2026

From 24–30 August 2026, TRAP – Circus Center Vienna hosts a week of workshops in contemporary circus, dance and performance.

Every workshop has a suggested price.

You decide what you can contribute according to your possibilities: you pay as you can.

Everyone involved receives a share of the income.

This festival exists because of collective support and efford.

Train with international artists in aerial rope, handstands, cyr wheel, object manipulation, partnering, pole, voice, dramaturgy, movement research, acrodance and more.

🎪 Workshop Announcement 🎪

In this workshop with Peter Smohai, we explore movement, rhythm and flow through the combination of martial arts principles and staff manipulation. Working with contrasts such as soft and strong, slow and fast, structure and creativity, we develop fluid movement patterns that connect body and object.

The workshop includes basic spinning techniques, contact manipulation, throws, martial arts poses and transitions, and flow development.

Open to anyone curious about movement, objects and embodied practice.

OBJECT MANIPULATION & DANCE

Juggling evolves around your whole body!

In this workshop with Ariane Oechsner, we explore the meeting point of object manipulation, contemporary dance and physical theatre. Through improvisation, movement research and playful experimentation, objects become creative partners rather than tools for tricks.

Together we investigate rhythm, coordination, flow and spatial awareness, developing a more expressive and embodied approach to juggling — what Ariane calls “whole body juggling.”

Open to beginners, movers, jugglers and curious explorers alike.
