Expensive makes do not mean they are made with good materials. Got this bag at work the material started to disintegrate and once it starts it will not stop. We can not sell items like this and it would be thrown out. I could not let that happen so I bought it cheap. I decided to try my hand at stitching this. A nice project to practice as I am very much still learning. It is far from perfect but now I can use it and I saved one item from landfill. I enjoy doing this and want to get good at it so onto my next project :-)

Managed to sew my first zigzag stich with my threadle machine today. So pleased with myself that I got it going. Tomorrow I need to read up on filling up the bobbin . It is nice to learn something new.

I love it when a plan comes together. Ages ago I bought these samples of material at work. They were odd bits but with interesting , lovely prints on them. Amongst them was this piece and I knew I wanted to make something to do with sewing. I needed to have a stool to sit on for working on my threadle machine 'Hilde' found a lovely one but getting g it home meant a favour from Barbara as we had to pick it up. And then it was gone. Two days later at work there it was waiting for me a little too shiny and new looking ( the other one was real wood and old) but it had the same function and a cushioned seat. So you guessed it. My piece of material was the perfect print , the perfect size. I used a stapler I bought years ago but never used ( I did take it with me from the uk because I was sure I would use it at some point. Do not look underneath it as it is messy but I had fun doing it and very pleased with the look. Now I just have to get going with learning how to actually use Hilde for sewing :-)

Meet "Hilde" the new woman in my life. I picked her up a few weekends ago as Barbara told me that if I see a threadle sewing machine I liked she would help to pick it up as a birthday present ( i have wanted one of those gor ages and now I have the space) . This was last year and it took me a lot of thinking to decide what kind of machine I wanted. There are some really beautiful machines out there and much older models too but I decided on Hilde. Hilde is a singer sewing machine 216 g made in Germany. Born in 1954 and therefore is much younger than any of my handcranks. The great thing about Hilde is that she can do a zigzag stich which my others can not do as this is unusual for a non electric machine. I thought it would be nice to have an extra feature. Wepicked her up from a lovely woman named Renate. The machine belongs to her mum who's name is Hilde hence her name us Hilde. Hilde needed a new belt which was not the usual size so it took a little time to find it. I found it on Temu of all places!! They for some reason have lots of bits and pieces to buy for sewing machines and sewing. I normally do not buy from them but it was rather great they had one!! I managed to put it on and cleaned Hilde and had to grips which using my feet instead of my hand to get it to work. I am learning but today I managed a bit. So now I shall start some little projects so I can use it. I like to use all of my machines if they work ( not all of them do as yet) So watch this space . I shall bore you all :-)

Day 11, was yesterday but I post today :-) I got to stop now otherwise I could just go on and on .. I have some others to go . 0

Okay here we go day 10 not sure if I keep some if what I did today but definitely will do the finishing touches tomorrow. It will be ready to hang up. Day 10 would have been a nice round number but day 11 is stripy and that is also rather nice :-)

Day 9 was yesterday but I did not have time to post. I just did a little bit. It makes it look like I am doing can you dpit the difference :-) so it will be 2 postings in one day today. Wow how exciting. Did you miss me all yesterday?

O by the way these cupboards are the inspiration of the colours of my painting. Very muddy after our snow so lots of dog paw cleaning things are laying around :-)

Day 8 . I am keeping up with just a little each day.

Day 7 it is my day of today. I had a little more time and it is a bright sunny day out. I am however going to meet up with my Dutch friend Loes who I met through a colleague. Loes loved working with wood so we are going to do a project together of making a box into a sewing box for my sewing thread spools. I will show a picture when it is done. Here is my day 7 photo though some red today and a little yellow. Lunch time for the dogs and me and a little run in the garden before I am setting off. Have a great day all of you.

Where am I? O yes day 6. Not much different as only able to paint a little after coming home from work but I want to keep up with painting a little every day. I am keeping my mojo going . Today extra bits of grey have been added.
