🎹 The command center of one of Europe's most powerful cathedral organs!
🗓️ This is the mobile central console of the Riesenorgel at St. Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom) in Vienna — built by Rieger Orgelbau between 2017 and 2020.
From these five manuals organists can play not one but two instruments simultaneously: the 130-stop Riesenorgel on the west gallery and the 55-stop Domorgel (choir organ) near the crossing — together totaling 185 stops and over 12,000 pipes, all controllable from this single console on the cathedral floor.
It's the first time in the cathedral's history that both organs can be united to fill the entire 100,000 cubic metre interior with sound — a space larger than London's Royal Albert Hall.
