2026 SELECTION:
The tell-tale heart
submitted by Kathrin Told

Love and hate are bound together - this idiom doesn't only apply to lovers but also to murder. The torment between blissful relief and deep regret seems difficult to grasp.
Though it is his hatred that kills his victim, his love for the old man is causing the murdererd heart to beat once more.
"The tell-tale heart" is based on Edgar Allan Poe's masterpiece and is a free interpretation of that story by young film students at FH Salzburg, Austria.

Guardians of Hellenism: The Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople

How did Ancient Greek culture survive through the centuries?

This film explores the relationship between Christianity and Hellenism, revealing how the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and generations of scholars helped preserve the Greek language, philosophy, and intellectual traditions.

Challenging common assumptions, it shows how Christian institutions became key guardians of a cultural heritage that would later influence the Renaissance and shape the modern world.

The Lamas Mound, an ancient secret
Mamoa de Lamas, um segredo ancestral

At dawn, light passes through the Mamoa de Lamas and reveals a Neolithic funerary chamber—once likely a place of renewal and meaning.

Today, the monument stands as a silent Neolithic legacy, connecting our time to a distant past.

2026 SELECTION:
Wir schwenkten keine Fahnen
By Mario Dengler & Tanja Ploner

The film explores the fragile space between personal memory and collective responsibility in the aftermath of the Second World War.

Through a grandfather’s Christmas Eve, the film reflects on guilt, humanity, and how the past continues to shape future generations.

Warm family moments contrast with the cold weight of memory, revealing the inner conflict between comfort and truth.

A story that asks: how do we carry responsibility for a history we did not choose.

2026 SELECTION:
LOST PAGES OF WAR
By Oswin Vogel & Maik Gießler

Summer 1945, Weimar. Two American soldiers commission a local publisher to create a printed chronicle of their wartime experiences—only for love, politics, and history to intervene.

When Jimmy meets Anna Schaefer, a quiet connection grows amid the ruins of post-war Germany. But the division between American and Soviet zones tears them—and their project—apart.

Decades later, in 2001, the forgotten books are finally discovered in the attic of the publishing house.

Based on true events.

Follow, If I Can
Submitted by Julia Keesler and Cameron Strittmatter

Set in the early 1800s, FOLLOW, IF I CAN follows cousins Sophia and Kate as they confront a choice between love, duty, and self-determination in a world that offers women few easy paths.

FOLLOW, IF I CAN seeks to give the audience a chance to reflect on their road yet taken. Will we be happy with the outcome if the choice we make means perhaps giving up a part of ourselves?

Chernihiv principality. 1000 years
Submitted by Andriy Titok

1,100 kilometers—from the Kerch Strait to the marshes of the Moscow region. A thousand years ago, this was the vast reach of the Principality of Chernihiv, at a time when Moscow did not yet exist.

With the help of archaeology, ancient architecture and historical research our film explores one of Eastern Europe's most fascinating and least understood medieval states.
