Er war Sänger von Messer Banzani, dann Produzent und Betreiber des Labels Germaican Records. Er arbeitete mit Trettmann, Seeed, Gentleman und vielen anderen zusammen. Leander Topp prägte die bundesweite Reggae- und Dancehall-Szene wie kaum ein anderer. Am Dienstag ist er überraschend gestorben.

With heavy hearts, we say farewell to Leander “Lanni” Topp aka Pionear, who passed away on June 17, 2025. As founder and frontman of Messer Banzani, head of Germaican Records, and a defining force in the German if not European reggae, ska, and dancehall scene, he moved and inspired generations. Lanni was a true visionary, friend, companion, father, son, grandson, and a role model for countless soundboys and musicians. We wish his family and all who were close to him much strength and love in this difficult time. Rest in Power, Lanni – di music nah stop. Walk good, bredda. One love, forever.

I co-produced the tracks *JahJah yo te amo* and *Mama mi love you* with – even though his name, for some reason, didn’t make it onto the plaque - this honour also belongs to him!

Big ups to my brobro Pionear as well for the support over the years.
