Behind the Neo-Renaissance facade of the EST Hotel Palais Chotek on Währinger Straße lies a house built on the finest carpentry: for decades it was home to the art joinery Friedrich Otto Schmidt, the very workshop behind Adolf Loos’ furniture designs, and from whose range Loos adopted his famous eleohant-trumk table.

Across nine floors of this restored palace, Artcare curated the art programm, letting contemporary positions meet the building’s heritage on equal terms. From julian.jankovic golden sculpture at the grand staircase, cast from discarded COVID-era laboratory pipettes, to Karl Karner aluminium work above the bar fireplace, and multi-panel screenprints lining the corridors floor by floor.

A heartfelt thank yoy to the entire team of EST Hotel Palais Chotek Vienna for the trust and the wonderful collaboration, and to all the artists whose work brings these historic walls to life. ✨

DOUBLE: more space for art

For years, the rooms at the rear of Rechte Bahngasse have served a quieter purpose: works passing through to be measured, photographed, examined and entered into our own database.
Newly renovated, this storage and digitisation space now opens as a second showroom. Across both rooms, DOUBLE brings together an international selection of work, pairing established contemporary positions with that of emerging artists based in Vienna.

We’re proud to support the TU Wien alumni club’s centenary project Back TU the Roots. 💐💯

As host of the online auction, we are excited to contribute to this initiative by presenting artworks from both established and emerging artists alongside the collaborative works created throughout the project. Through creative workshops, artists, students, alumni, researchers, and friends transformed materials from TU Wien archives, laboratories, and workshops into meaningful new artworks with a purpose.

The auction is continuously expanding, all artworks will be exhibited at the Kuppelsaal of TU Wien before the auction concludes in early December 2026.

➡️ All proceeds from the ongoing online auction directly support students in financial need.
