Tisa's Barefoot Bar & Eco-Resort opened in April of 1989. It consisted of a fale without walls and doors. The 200 square feet of sand floor was big enough for one bartender (Tisa), a shelf of cold beer in a small cooler and room for 5 customers. Today, Tisa's Barefoot Bar & Eco-Resort offers beach-side homestay accommodations for up to 6 persons at our marine sanctuary, fresh seafood dining by res

ervation for visitors, plus we host up to 60 guests for a weekly, traditional umu feast -- all without losing our original beach-bar ambiance. Each Wednesday night the umu feast, prepared and wrapped in banana leaves, is laid over hand-selected rocks and coconut husks and is the only one of itʻs kind served on the Island of Tutuila. Reservations recommended. We dine in the traditional Samoan way -- on hand-woven palm plates. Lunch and dinner is served Tuesday - Sunday beginning at Noon, reservations also recommended. Tisa's design priority was to maintain the ocean view to witness dolphins swimming at high tide off the reef a few hundred yards away. "When I look up to serve a beer to a customer", Tisa related, "my eyes automatically fall into position where dolphins come into view. They are magnificent mammals that never fail to carry my imagination away with them."
