✨THE NAVIGATOR✨

Here comes Iris, a character from the MegaMan X universe. Her first appearance takes place during MegaMan X4, which main role is serving as navigator. She is almost human, therefore a reploid; a highly advanced android. Unlike any other robot, reploids posses free-will and emotions just like humans.

Looks like Iris is jumping on the bandwagon with all other female drawings I did before. They all could come up with a music band at this point. I wonder who would play drums. I can totally tell who would play the bass.

As far as the process involved in my drawing: In order to create my concept I used a generic mannequin which helped me to work on the pose. This became my first japanese female and first with a dynamic pose all from scratch with a mannequin as my only guide. I initially planned to go traditional and I started with a simple sketch on a piece of paper. Later on, scanned and I continued the rest with digital ink and added some very basic layer of color.

Creating that hair was quite challenging but it helped me to think what to do with my next character. Can you guess who would be next? Leave your theories in the comment section. I love theories, come on. Bring it on.

Inter-Connected Challenge. On the 13th day of this month, word prompt was "Blind".

Inspired by the concept of souls I tried to represent my own in a visual type of way. I call this piece: "Soul yet to be found."

Truth is I have no idea what souls even look like. What is the color of a soul? How could we possibly ever know in a world ruled by time and space? I have no answer to that. My lines can hardly grasp the surface of it. So, here is my attempt.

I chose the prompt "blind" given that I am the kind of person whose soul is always searching for the ultimate soul ever to be found. One that I could tune in with in a deeper level. I like to think that it must exists. I just could not find it yet. So, I never give up on the idea about a soul out there (somewhere) that I have not discovered. Perhaps the nature of this soul is to be blind. And maybe this is why the journey is so challenging. So hard for me to be found as it may be for this soul finding mine without eyes to see clearer. I will never really know.

The idea of all my theories keep me awake at night. For this is my truth and mine to live and embrace and remain hopeful. Even in my darkest hours I like to see it that way. It gives me purpose and meaning to the lonely path I belong.

May this piece of art become a signal to you, ultimate soul. Wherever you may be at, may you recognize my energy. See my core and my very nature. This is who I am. Be my guest. I am where I need to be.

SONYA BLADE

Here is both the digital Inked-up version as well as being painted using photoshop software. I also did an adjustment resizing the shape of the head. This was a major flaw I could not see right away the last time. The character's proportions should be more accurate this time.

Anyways, lots of mistakes still, but here it is: Sonya is back but refined and in full color. Moving on to my next concept.

I drew Cammy, a character from Street Fighter videogame. Based on a reference from a painted statue, I started with a small 10-minute sketch. Then, using the grid technique I scaled things up into a poster size in a bigger sheet. So, here it is. One more female drawing.
