Unos días más tarde siguen cayendo las fichas...bello encuentro de recobrar las ganas de hacer teatro, de involucrarnos con otres, respirar juntes y ponernos a disposición de la escena sin olvidarnos de nuestras potencialidades.
Gracias Escuela Argentina de Teatro en Madrid, por abrir estas puertas, y gracias a todxs lxs que fueron parte.

After a few days, some very lovely images reappear. The joy of performing, exchanging, feeling excited and curious... Understanding that I don´t need to block myself to explore a character, a dramatic territoir, an improv or excercise... But it is within my dynamics where I´ll be able to connect and create!
Thanks Escuela Argentina de Teatro in Madrid, and thanks to evryone who came for one unique encounter...

Pasaron unos días, para procesar lo que fue la bellísima función de SOPA en Barcelona y todo lo que se viene!

Una alegría compartir con el equipo de The BCN Studio, el público y la amorosidad de Martu y Herno en la técnica. Y Cloti en la comunicación a la distancia!
Además de la presencia curiosa y amable de Jaime Benavides moderando el desmontaje post función. La obra sigue creciendo en cada pasito, junto a los diferentes públicos, culturas, contextos...

SOPA es una obra cuyo recorrido se inicia como una recolección de textos en lo que se vivió como un eterno confinamiento pandémico en Buenos Aires, representados inicialmente en inglés en formato online para el Saloon de AFO Nueva York, traducidos luego al castellano y derivado en obra unipersonal, actuada por Nico Depetre, con la tutoría de la dramaturga Paula Baró. Habiendo hecho dos temporadas en BA se transformó en exploración de sitio específico en Atenas, con un elenco local, música original, y textos en español, inglés y griego. Devino por último en la versión actual, que actúo yo misma, residiendo en Madrid, que se renueva en cada presentación. Iniciamos la gira en Atenas, en el espacio multidisciplinar Plyfa, pasamos por Barcelona y sigue...quédense en línea para la info de la función en Madrid!

Mientras se vienen unos talleres de indagación en la creación colectiva a partir de la unicidad. En tiempos de disgregación el teatro es una trichera de amor y colaboración, análisis, pensamiento crítico y poesía...

A few days have passed to process the beautiful performance of SOPA in Barcelona and all that's to come!

It was a joy to share this experience with The BCN Studio team, the audience, and the loving support of Martu and Herno in tech. As well as Cloti in communication fro afar! I also appreciated the curious and kind presence of Jaime Benavides, who moderated the Q&A. The work continues to grow with each step, alongside different audiences, cultures, and contexts...

SOPA is a work that has a journey which began as a collection of texts written during what felt like an endless pandemic lockdown in Buenos Aires. Initially performed online in English for the AFO New York Saloon, these texts were later translated into Spanish and developed into a one-person show, performed by Nico Depetre, under the mentorship of playwright Paula Baró. After two runs in BsAs, it transformed into a site-specific exploration in Athens, featuring a local cast, original music, and texts in Spanish, English, and Greek. It eventually evolved into the current version, which I perform myself, based in Madrid, and which is renewed with each performance. We kicked off the tour in Athens, at the multidisciplinary space Plyfa, then moved on to Barcelona, ​​and it continues...stay tuned for info about the Madrid show!

Meanwhile, we have some upcoming workshops exploring collective creation based on uniqueness. In times of fragmentation, theater is a refuge of love and collaboration, analysis, critical thinking, poetry and more...

SOPA es una obra performática. Una oda a lo peculiar.

Una sucesión de actos en los que Iris, único personaje, se va desgajando transitando una espiral. A través de imágenes, recuerdos y sueños, Iris acude a la audiencia sobre lo que significa vivir fuera de la norma.

Iris se abre. Danza, se sacude y narra. Iris es el signo de interrogación en una sopa de letras, una mujer barbuda sumergida en un guiso, una serie de recuerdos que viajan desde lejos en una nave espacial.

La pieza se sirve del teatro físico y una estética q***r, pop y disforme para plantear preguntas que subvierten, traspasan y rechazan las ideas de feminidad/masculinidad, desafiando el binarismo y roles de género en sus cruces y fugas.

SOPA es un grito, un caldo en el que todos estamos inmersxs, enredadxs. Donde lo absurdo y lo ridículo se cuelan entre los textos más crudos.

Iris: "De nuevo la amenaza,
la pregunta. El potrero
la siesta, la bombacha.
Las medias hasta las rodillas.
El boxer rayado
Las vendas.
¿Estoy enfermo? Se ríen.
Yo me pongo
los auriculares y digo: “Ah, ¡pero
estoy escuchando otra canción!”.

It´s tonight!!!
Hoy se sale a escena con toda la alegría y la furia y la compañía de amigxs que lo dieron todo para montar esta SOPA, lxs de allá y lxs de acá. Colegas fabulosxs que admiro y que cada quien en su tarea...me facilitaon su expertise y su cariño como nunca...

Niki y Savvas en la traducción y voces en off en griego que cambian todo! (miles de horas de su tiempo, su casa, su familia...y vino)
Alexandra acá y la LuNeMe allá en la mirada externa, con feedbacks siempre acertadxs, inspiradores.
Mayra y Sebu dando una mano en difusión, siempre atentxs a las palabras a tender puentes,
El espacio de ensayo/casa de Stelluki...pura luz!

SOPA is a performance piece. A one-person show. An ode to peculiarity.

A succession of vignettes in which Iris unravels their thoughts. Through images, memories and dreams, Iris addresses the audience on what it is to be living outside the norm.
Iris opens up, a monstrously beautiful bird. They stomp and dance and tell stories. They are the question mark in an alphabet soup, a femme fatale soaked in a stew, a series of memories traveling from far away in a space rocket.

The piece uses physical theater and a q***r, pop, distorted aesthetic in order to pose questions that subvert, trespass and repel the ideas of femininity/masculinity, binarism and gender roles.

SOPA is a cry, a broth in which we are all immersed, entangled. Where the absurd and the ridiculous find their way into rawness.

I´m very glad to announce my first performance in Athens!
At the amazing Plyfa venue

SOPA is a performative play with a unique journey: texts gathered during the pandemic lockdown, performed online & in English language for AFO NYC's Saloon, resulting in a one-person play performed by an amazing actor & friend, Nicolás Depetre, in Buenos Aires, then touring Patagonia, Argentina, with the support of the City Council funding. Transformed later into a site specific exploration in Lala Spiti, Athens, with a diverse cast and original music, texts in Spanish, English and Greek. SOPA then evolved into the current version, performed by myself, which, with the audience's help, will be able to open new debates and unfold once more.
