You laugh at my accent…
But you don’t speak another language.
You correct me when I say a word wrong…
But you’ve never lived outside your country.
You want to teach me…
But I’d rather you understand me,
not evaluate me.
Speaking another language is exhausting.
It exposes you.
It can make you feel awkward…
less smart.
My accent is not a mistake.
It tells a story of learning,
of change,
of starting over.
Yes, I have an accent.
It reminds me where I come from…
and the journey I’ve taken
to speak with you today.
And above all…
my accent is proof
that I was brave enough to try.
To learn.
To live.
And to arrive here.

Capas, relieves y pequeñas variaciones que dejan que la luz haga su parte.
Una paleta casi blanca, casi silenciosa, donde las sombras terminan de dibujar la pieza.

Los nombres de mis obras nacen del momento en que están siendo pintadas.
Mientras trabajo siempre hay música sonando, y en algún punto del proceso una canción —o una frase de esa canción— queda resonando.
No la busco: aparece.
Se mezcla con el clima del taller, con el ritmo de la pintura, con las capas y los silencios.
Por eso cada obra lleva el nombre de una canción o de una frase que estaba escuchando en ese instante.
Es una manera de dejar una huella sonora del tiempo en que fue creada,
de guardar la emoción que atravesaba el proceso.
La pintura queda.
La música también.
Y entre las dos, se conserva la memoria de ese momento.

The names of my works come from the moment they are painted.
While I work there is always music playing, and at some point in the process a song - or a phrase from that song - remains resonating.
I’m not looking for her: she shows up.
Blends with the atmosphere of the workshop, with the rhythm of painting, with the layers and silences.
That’s why every work is named after a song or a phrase he was listening to at that moment.
It’s a way to leave a sound footprint of the time when it was created,
to save the emotion that went through the process.
The painting remains.
Music too.
And between the two, the memory of that moment is preserved.

In this work everything happens by layers.
The color appears, moves, blends...
and leaves traces of what was before.
There are calm zones
and other more intense,
as if the surface held different times.
Nothing is fully said.
The image is armed and disarmed,
and in that movement
the work finds its meaning.

La obra se da vuelta.
El gesto se reescribe,
la materia cambia
y el tiempo abre otra capa.
Vuelve a empezar pero no es lo mismo.

The work suddenly turns.
Matter shifts direction,
the gesture rewrites itself
and time opens another layer.

Everything begins again —
but not the same.

La obra empieza casi sin darme cuenta.Un color, una mancha, algo que pide estar en la tela.
Voy probando, sumando capas, sacando, volviendo.
Dejo que la pintura marque el camino.
No pienso tanto en cómo va a terminar.Me interesa más lo que pasa mientras sucede. Me divierto.
El tiempo pasa y yo me cuelgo en sensaciones y sentimientos.
Y en algún momento paro…pero la obra sigue ahí, creciendo en silencio.

The work begins almost without realizing it. A color, a spot, something that asks to be on the fabric.
I’m trying, adding layers, pulling out, coming back.
I let the painting mark the way.
I don’t think so much about how it’s going to end. I’m more interested in what happens while it happens. I have fun.
Time passes and I get stuck in sensations and feelings.
And at some point I stop... but the play is still there, growing in silence.
