ԺԱԻ–ն ժամանակակից արվեստի ոլորտում նախագծերի ձևավորման և արտադրման բաց հարթակ/կենտրոն/խառնարան է։ ԺԱԻ–ն խթանում/նպաստում է Հայաստանում արվեստի տնտեսության զարգացմանը, ձևավորում և իրականացնում է արվեստի հավաքածուների, ցուցահանդեսներ
ի, արխիվացման ու տարածման նախագծեր, նաև վարում է կուրատորական գործունեության, տեսության և արվեստի ոլորտում հետազոտություններ։ Իբրև անձերի և գաղափարների միջգործառնական ցանց՝ ԺԱԻ-ի դպրոցը, նախագծերի և հետազոտությունների լաբորատորիաներն առաջարկում են ռեսուրսներ, տեխնիկական հարմարություններ/պայմաններ և գործիքներ՝ հայաստանյան արվեստի դաշտում և ավելի լայն՝ համաշխարհային համատեքստում գործելու և մտածելու համար։
The Institute for Contemporary Art (ICA) is an institution dedicated to capacity building. We believe that education, science, and production are interconnected and organized as one global process and aim to meaningfully contribute to the development of the art economy of Armenia. The ICA is made up of the ICA School, the Project and Research Labs, the exhibition hall and the library, the studios, and the Nest Art Residency. We provide technical facilities and training for artists, art critics, and curators, produce research at the crossroads of art, culture, humanities and social sciences, and design art collections, exhibitions, and creative platforms. Relying on the context-sensitive and context-creating nature of contemporary art, the ICA team plays the role of a conveyor, sharing the power of art to bring about change to the social, cultural, and political landscape of Armenia.
